Burlington Menswear: Tucked into the heart of downtown Burlington, my brother chose this shop for the groomsmen to rent their tuxes from for his wedding on 9/12/21. The shop is clean and well kept. I found their prices to be on par with other rental shops that I’ve used in recent years. For convenience we were able to leave our tuxes for collection from employees at the venue (the nearby Mercantile Hall). As much as I would like to give them a perfect review, I cannot because of some issues that arose. As we were changing shortly before the ceremony the best man noticed that his neck tie was broken as it did not include a clip (the ties are pre-tied and work by clipping the ends around the neck and then tightening). He almost had to forgo wearing a tie, but thankfully an employee at the venue was able to work some magic with some pins. The other issue was that I am not the largest guy. When I tried tightening my neck tie it was very loose and could not get any tighter. Before I get accused of not being able to properly tighten it, NUMEROUS people did their best to assist and came to the same conclusion that it could not get any tighter. We tried pinning it, but it still did not look very good. You can see for yourself in the picture I’ve included. It’s disappointing to pay the amount that we did with the results that we got. I suggest staff remember to measure customers necks and make sure an appropriate sized tie is available with future customers. They also need to up their quality control and carefully inspect each piece that they send out (missing tie clip). Overall the experience was comparable to “Men’s Warehouse” as opposed to a higher end shop.
*10/7/21 update The shop did reach out and apologized for the problems (which is appreciated). There's really nothing else that can be done at this point as the event is over and the pictures are all taken. The representative that apologized mentioned that they could have corrected the problem had we brought it to their attention, but I would like to remind them that my brother's wedding was on a Sunday and although the venue was just down the street from the rental shop, they are...
Read moreI made an appointment over the phone on Thursday 9/19 for Saturday 9/21 at 10:30am. My fiancé and I are getting married in October. I called the store around 10am because I got turned around by a detour & was less than 10 minutes late. We got there to a group of 3 men getting fitted for tuxedos. There was one woman working and she asked if we were the ones that called - she was VERY polite and kind. No issues there, but it seemed like we were double booked. Finally, after waiting for 30 minutes, the woman asked for my fiancé’s first and last name - we weren’t on the schedule lol. She did apologize for the wait, but it got to the point where we felt like our time wasn’t valued. Even the other party getting fitted apologized and that wasn’t his fault at all. I finally called S.J. Crystal’s Men’s Wear in Kenosha and we were helped immediately. Everybody has an off day - I just...
Read moreThis is hands down the best place if you are looking to purchase or rent suits or mens dress attire for your wedding or special event. My husband and I came in on a Saturday to look at suits for our wedding. The store was extremely busy, as expected during wedding/homecoming season. We were instantly greeted and told an extra helping hand was on their way in. I was extremely impressed with their professionalism and customer service. Not only was everyone super friendly, they were extremely knowledgeable and took the time to make sure my husband looked good and felt comfortable. We bought all of the groomsmen the Stacy Adams Westcott plain toe and everyone loved the fit and comfort. Two of the groomsmen purchased dress pants and dress shirts also, the alterations were finished super quick and both said how surprisingly comfortable they were all night. We will...
