I hate doing this but it has to be a change on how this College operates.
If it wasn’t for the love that I have for my child, I would have insisted that he stayed at the University he left because he was doing so well and made the National Honors Society as a Freshman. This is where our troubles started when he wanted to transfer to this University. My son is very different and when I make this statement it’s because at 17 he was drawn to his faith in his Christian values as a young person and because of that and how close knit Caldwell University is leaving that impression on my son and being a small school my son was ready to embark on his new journey. My son transferred and was accepted to this university in June/July timeframe and from that time until now as I write this review we never received a financial aid packet home. So as a concerned parent of coarse I was concerned
This is not my first child I put through school so I’m very familiar with the process, we visited the school in late July and I’ve expressed this same concerns to Financial Aid with only one person working in the office and was told that they were having some trouble receiving students federal aid but not to worry about it I should receive something soon once they process it.
So I waited and waited August rolls around and it’s still nothing and please can I also add that I’ve called in between the waiting, left voice messages and no one ever called me back and that small act within itself lacks courtesy, when it’s the parents which support their kids that need to know this information before school starts. My middle child is in school and every time I have questions about her financial aid, her Financial Aid department always call me back and ready to break things down. But Caldwell University Financial Aid department lacks that, the day I moved my child in the dorm he didn’t have a schedule for his classes and he had to wait on getting that, it’s now November going into the next semester and I still haven’t gotten a breakdown of my sons federal aid and the expected amount that I would have to pay.
Lastly the part that really got me is when they added late fees on my son’s account and wanted to hold us responsible when they are clearly the ones who dropped the ball from the time my son transferred in got accepted, no financial aid packet home no return phone calls from this department no nothing when we did our part from the beginning.
But I will say when I call the admissions office someone there heard my frustrations and tried to assist me in my concerns and for that I appreciate it. Again had it not been for the love I have for my kid, I would rather for him to transfer back to which he came from or transfer somewhere else because if this is how you handle new students/ students period then there is something wrong with this picture and it’s very much about the principal of all of this from start and...
Read moreI have to say that I am not overly impressed by this college. I was introduced by a rep that came to my National Guard unit. My boyfriend and I both enrolled in classes. The first being the Private Investigator Course. This was the boyfriends first time using his GI Bill. Right off the bat we began have problems with our certifications coming up missing somewhere between the college and the VA. We would have never known there was any issues if we didn't call the VA ourselves. The college always seemed to have a back log on any supplies it was sending out for our courses. Because each course was 2 parts we had to deal with the VA several times over two missing certificates. We finish the first course and received our certificates in a timely manner. We then enrolled in our second course (Firearms Safety Course). Again this was a two part class and immediately we began having problems with our certification between the college and the VA. When part 2 of the course rolled around I didn't have any GI Bill left but, the college said they would be willing to cover the 2nd half but, I would not receive any materials. I didn't know this included the books to complete this course. I was told that since my boyfriend was enrolled I should use his books. Come the end of the course my boyfriend received his certificate but, I have not. On many occasions I have contacted a gentleman named Sam and another female about my certificate. The first time Sam informed me that the college was going through some changes separating from a partner that was being investigated and he would look into it. I never received a call back. I called back a week later and spoke to the female who told me she didn't have any control over what was going on and there is nothing she can do. I told her if I had to I would post reviews and with me being in the military I don't think the military would appreciate their soldiers being screwed over by the college. I told her that I completed my course with passing grades and there is no reason I shouldn't receive my certificate. She couldn't give me an answer. I tried calling the college again today to find out what was going on with it and I was sent to Sam's voice mail. I still have not received a call back. I may look at pushing this up through the military and trying to get their accreditation pulled for the...
