Wander Atelier was my first stop in my wedding dress search. Scheduling an appointment online was a breeze; a questionnaire was sent to my email shortly after with questions about style choices, wedding theme, budget, etc. Due to Covid-19, they were allowing bride + 3 to come in which I thought was very generous considering most other places are only allowing bride +2 & sometimes even just bride +1. All health guidelines were followed and masks were worn. I felt completely safe in their space!
The location of the shop is in a beautiful building with ample local parking in Caldwell.
Taking my first steps into the salon I was taken back by the amazing interior design! This place actually opened in early March and then was forced to close very shortly after due to Covid-19 but I’m so glad they were able to reopen.
Our group had a private room and after sitting down and being offered water or champagne ( I took the champagne! ), we started talking about some of the items I mentioned in the questionnaire. It’s so hard to pick just 1-2 things I loved about my experience here but one that stands out was that Nicole encouraged my group to walk through the salon and to feel/pick out dresses we all liked. She didn’t just assume or pick things out for me but rather allowed us to be in control. When trying on the many dress choices, she made me feel very comfortable. It was truly like chatting with a friend! If there were things I didn’t like about certain dresses she was able to offer advice on how to make small tweaks to get to what my vision was. They also have really nice accessories and hair pieces.
I have to say that I most definitely fell in love with my dress the minute I put it on but I’m the type of person that needs to compare and exhaust my options. I told Nicole this and she completely understood and wasn’t pushy or trying to sell.
After leaving WA I went to another salon and my experience did not compare. It was obvious that WA had the nicest quality and they were not pushy and or eager to just sell which meant a lot to me. WA set high a high standard for a bridal dress shopping experience because Nicole made it so memorable and easy going.
My 2nd time visiting WA Nicole had my dress already hanging & waiting for me in the room. Trying it on again I had that say yes to the dress moment and waterworks. I ended up making a slight modification to the dress and Nicole was was able to confirm with the designer that it was possible from our first visit (she is that attentive!!).
If you are just starting your dress shopping journey or have already gone to multiple places, please give Wander Atelier a look. You won’t regret it! They have many different styles and sizes to accommodate any bride; from more modern bride all the way to the boho bride. They have created such a warm and welcoming environment that is inclusive for all. They have a great arrangement of designers that you can’t find anywhere else. The boutique experience was more than I could have imagined.
Nicole is truly such a sweetheart and really listens to what you say and what you want. I feel very lucky to have been able to have my wedding dress shopping experience at her salon. Even though I got my dress already, I want to go back and hangout with her because she is...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience at Wander Atelier, and ended up purchasing my dress there. Truly wish I could leave more than 5 stars.
The thought of dress shopping was the one piece of the planning process that caused me a huge amount of anxiety. As a plus sized person, I was dreading shopping in person. Over the years, I've gone dress shopping with enough straight sized friends that I knew the samples at many stores were tiny and wouldn't work for me. Further, I'd heard enough horror stories of other plus sized shoppers having to hold up dresses in front of their bodies and imagine what the dress would look like - rather than actually being able to try anything on.
I truly felt I hit the jackpot in finding Wander Atelier. After scouring the internet for dresses that felt a bit cooler and more modern than what I was seeing elsewhere, Wander Atelier's commitment to inclusion in sample sizing, and a comfortable shopping experience had me pulling the trigger on booking an appointment. The appointment was truly better than I could have hoped for, from start to finish.
After a relatively quick and easy drive from NYC, we were welcomed by Nicole into the atelier, which is super open, bright and private (I was the only shopper there at the time). Nicole showed us around and then invited me to browse through the dresses. It was great to be able to look at them all up close and touch them, rather than having dresses just pulled for you. I was really happy with the selection, and with the help of some clips, able to try on every single dress I had my eye on.
At no point did I feel hurried or pushed to make a decision. Nicole was so warm and knowledgeable that working with her felt like shopping with a good friend who just happens to know a ton about wedding dresses. I fell in love with my dress and purchased it that same day. A few days later, I got a phone call from Nicole - I had mentioned in passing when I was trying on my dress that I wished the straps were a little thicker. Nicole had reached out to the designer, who happily made that customization. This level of attention to detail and commitment to clients blew me away.
Very much recommend Wander Atelier to anyone looking for a beautifully curated selection of dresses and truly top-notch...
Read moreMy journey to wander began when an Alena Leena dress caught my eye on the designer’s Instagram. It had a style name but I couldn’t find it anywhere on the designer’s website. I called the closest stockist to me, Wander Atelier, to see if they had any idea about it. In the span of about an hour, Nicole, the owner, had called the designer (In Australia, 5:00PM their time) and had an answer on the dress timeline (still in production, not officially available yet but I could order it), additional photos, and the price.
I visited Wander a few days later to see the Alena Leena trunk show. Wander is immaculate, you could literally eat off the floor. The sample dresses are gorgeous - no gross fake tan stains, no dirty bottoms, no tears or missing beads. It’s clear from the moment you walk in the pride that Nicole + Andrew have in their shop. My shopping experience was wonderful. I tried on the dress and a few others to be super sure. Nicole had me look at the dress in different rooms/different lighting, walk around in it, and finally, try it on with a veil. She was beyond accommodating, super sweet, and never pushy or in a rush. I was the only person there, and Nicole made it feel like I was shopping with my best friend. I ordered my dress on the spot. My measurements necessitated a different sized top and bottom, and once again Nicole went above and beyond. She called the designer, confirmed they would make the dress to my measurements and add lining to the top, at no extra cost or production time. When I picked up my dress a few months later it fit perfectly- just a few minor alterations in strap length and hem. She was once again phenomenal, letting me march around the store to see it in different lighting and FaceTime with family. She recommended a tailor in CT, and offered to send me hair ideas for the veil I tried on.
Nicole truly went above and beyond all my wildest expectations for a bridal shop. She made my dress shopping experience so fantastic and easy. I visited other bridal shops before coming to Wander Atelier and they could not hold a candle to Nicole’s dress selection, her calm demeanor, her professionalism, and her relationship with the...
