Read more'24/9 1st time customer/review: -- Large, updated park (used by after-school programs on weekdays) out of the way location in heart of Rosemont (backing up to Einstein Middle School grounds) off Hwy 50 on south side (west of Bradshaw/Mayhew or east of Watt & Kiefer); but, totally worth the treck. -- Safe feeling with small, shaded, paved, circular, drive-thru parking lot (inc. only 2 handicap spaces, on Americana Way off Huntsman Dr.) before have to park vehicle on the residential surface streets. So, expect to walk! -- A few paved walkways radiate out from the circular parking lot. -- A dedicated, stand-alone, stark yet functional, 2 separate (unisex, large, single toilet) room/entrances, cinderblock building serves as a stand-alone restroom facility just as enter park from the small, circular parking lot. [Handicap note: this appears to be the original, old-school design; so, very unweildly, large entrance doors. But, plenty of wheelchair/stroller space once inside. No built in changing table. -- Large, newer-looking, dynamicly engaging looking playground. -- Feels like new (or resurfaced/configured) tri-plex of dedicated basketball, pickleball (2), and tennis (2) courts all edged/divided-saparated by 10' high chain link fence. Check Cordova Rec & Park District (CRPD) website for availability, as used by after-school programs, too. -- Tons of open & shadded grass for lawn games, picnic, etc. [Note: Jr. Pee Wee football takes up a chunk Aug-Oct practicing mid-week.] -- About being "dog friendly": While there is TONS of open lawn area, there is NO dedicated dog park area; so legally, all dogs have to be on leash. One of our group's participants with a large, well trained, male Doberman found this out the hard way an hour in as the prior almost empty entire area started to get crowded come 5:30p in August as all the after-school programs rolled out bringing with them A LOT of kids and parents! Takeaway: A MUST when hankering to go to the playground, tennis, pickleball, basketball, or just lots of shadded/sunny, groomed,...
Was real glad to see others out enjoying the park, you could definitely tell that the people there were in groups and not mixing with others, lots of waving and thumbs up, from one bunch to another group but distancing was being practiced. It's a favorite park for a lot of people. Multiple kids play grounds, six ball diamond's my guess 2 hardball, two soft ball, and two infield practice diamonds. area's set aside for soccer (rightfully called FOOTBALL) four tennis 🎾 courts. Oh and the all important real restrooms, not porta-potties. Counted at least six squirrels while i was there. Lots of trees for shade...
Read moreLove this park for any family even. Bathrooms on site easy for the kids to spend all day there, picnic, carne asada cook outs, tennis area, playground , we have had 2 easters and 2.bdaus here with plenty of room, tables and playing area. Baseball court as well , dog friendly walk area , well this park has it all. Our favorite in this area is for sure. There are more parks around but not as full and no bathrooms. They do need to clean the bathrooms more often due to homeless people around love to fill the toilets with toilet paper,...
