T&C was the very 1st suburban "mall" in the Country. It was a beautiful group of structures with sidewalks, covered with clay tiles suggesting the Spanish architecture of early California. There was an eclectic selection of upscale specialty shops, assorted restaurants, a drug store, and a large grocery store and a large post office. There was even a "caged" space where children could be dropped off to be amused with a good sized collection of rides and activities, and a staff to oversee the children. Fast forward to, perhaps as much as 10 years ago; there were massive changes when much of the "charm" disappeared, to be replaced by big box stores, fast food replaced fine dining, Trader Joe's and soon to be open "Sprouts", replace the now defunct full service grocery store. TIMES DEMAND CHANGE, but the historic element of TOWN AND COUNTRY,simply being THE FIRST MALL IN THE COUNTRY, should have been preserved! ..... honored with a plaque based on it's historical importance! In 1953, it was magical for children. In the 60's, my sweetie proposed to me at Aldo's, and then we walked to the jewelry store where the engagement ring was brought out of display case. And a similar story was repeated on more than once as my children went through similar events. SO, I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO BE OBJECTIVE IN REVIEWING WHAT IS TODAY TOWN AND COUNTRY. What can I say? By today's...
Read moreI love to shop at Ross because of the low prices and can usually find something I like. The thing I don't like is how the fitting room staff treats the customers. They can't hardly speak English! This should be a requirement to interact with the public in a retail environment. I told the fitting room attendant how many items I had and she motioned me to hang the clothes on a pole so she could count them herself, I felt like she didn't trust me. Then she ran her hands up and down the clothes to make sure I don't know maybe I stored something in the pockets hahaha just was very strange! I feel like she could have been a lot more friendly. The lines to pay are always super long to. I don't know why but they always seem under staffed. If their prices aren't so low I wouldn't shop there. But you just can't beat the prices and I always find...
Read moreTown & Country Village Shopping Center is one of my favorite shopping centers in Sacramento. The shopping center has many shops, supermarkets, and restaurants where I like to shop. Some of the stores I like are T.J. Maxx, Trader Joe’s, Sprouts Farmers Market, Five Guys, Ramen 101, and more.
The shopping center has more beautiful decorations than most of the other shipping centers in town. A lot of parking is available at the big parking lot in the middle of the shopping center. However, the smaller parking lot in front of Trader Joe’s and Ramen 101 is always super busy. So you can go behind the building and park your car in the big parking lot with...
