West Nassau Museum of History — Attraction in Callahan

There was no fee to visit here but we were slightly disappointed. The hours of the museum were not the same as the true hours of the museum. The items inside didn't appear to be set up in any specific manner. There were also things that we couldn't see due to the placement. It's like they had gotten a delivery and said "let's just put this here for right now". BUT the couple that were there were really knowledgeable about the area and the train system. We also learned some interesting things about the area...

Fun for the whole family. Museum is always updating the exhibits. Friendly small town people. Events here are always packed full of local venders with amazing creativity, live bands, and family fun zone. Look for the model train that rides the outside track around the museum. Free admission but please donate to...

Great place. Great history of Callahan. Loved the displays. The pictures. The videography. Love the old building If you live here...or even just passing thru... Take a lil while and check it out. Well worth it. Great folks there making it...
