Laite Memorial Beach — Attraction in Camden

We stumbled upon this place on our way south after camping at Camden Hills State Park, and what a treat it was. They have changing rooms, so we popped in for a quick, refreshing swim before driving home. It kept us cool the rest of the way home. Great place to swim, for humans and dogs alike. Lots of people here on an August Sunday. The water was cold but not freezing. Sandy and pebble beach. We brought chairs and when we got tired of sitting on them, we moved up to the grassy area and sat in the grass. Both spots offered a gorgeous view and sunshine. The beach itself isn't all that great. It has a weird stench to it and it wouldn't be the ideal place to swim. Although during high tide would be one of the better times to swim. They do have bathrooms here. One of the coolest things about this place is this steep grass hill which is fun to slide on.
