I was referred to Thomas Michaels Designers to have a Rolex watch appraised. I had never been before, and was immediately struck by the beauty and warmth of the jewelry and the environment. Thomas examined my watch with meticulous thoroughness, sharing all the details of the watch throughout his examination. It wasn't long before Thomas determined my watch to be a fake. I appreciated the time Thomas took to examine it so thoroughly. I was getting ready to leave when Thomas asked when the last time my diamond had been cleaned. It had been a while, and he offered to do a quick cleaning for me on the spot. He quickly noticed a few of the prongs supporting the diamonds were broken, and had me inspect the damage with the help of his viewer. He shared his surprise that the diamonds hadn't fallen out. He had a quick solution to repair the prongs, as well as enhance the beauty of my family heirloom while maintaining it's original integrity. On further inspection, Thomas was able to give me a little history on the diamonds as well. We went to the store at least thee different times to design a custom engagement ring (which I love). Each time he gave us incredible service and world class education in design, gems, and the history of Indian metals, gems and jewelry design too (my husband is from India). He is a wealth of information and has such passion for his craft. My now husband wanted a very special piece of jewelry to reflect our unconventional proposal, where by I asked our close artists friends to write in 200ft letters "Will you marry me?!" on the road in front of the farm I grew up on in Belfast Maine, so that it was visible from a small charted plane as we flew over.
