Megunticook Falls — Attraction in Camden

This is a small but charming waterfall located right in the heart of Camden, near the harbor. There’s a little grassy area with benches where you can sit and enjoy the view of the harbor — though when we visited, most of the boats were covered for the season. It’s a peaceful spot to take a quick break, especially if you’re on a road trip.

The area around the falls has plenty of local charm, with restaurants, delis, and souvenir shops just along the road. It’s a convenient place to grab a bite, stretch your legs, and enjoy the small-town coastal atmosphere. There’s also a library nearby if you need a restroom.

These falls are beautiful any time of the year and are a unique treasure for the town of Camden. There are five amazing dams on the river making for a great exploration trip upstream with a gorgeous river and scenery. And the river and its dams have 235 years of heritage behind them with all kinds of stories. It's a living history book.

Unfortunately the Town Select Board is pushing very hard to get rid of most of the falls and dams in the near future. Better come visit them...

Very nice hidden behind Main street. You can check out the views from 'the smiling cow' as well. This is just behind the 'smiling cow', flowing in to the Camden harbor. It's quite unique as you would never expect it, as there are buildings (Maine St)...
