I can't believe these are honest reviews of these stores. They must be paying people to leave high remarks. Here's is a honest opinion... I have had several quality issues and customers service issues with there stores and there customer service 800 number. Once I called the 800 number and the reps must be so tired of hearing complaints they just don't care. She basically told me to write up my complaint and mail it in. Secondly when first Redners opened in Cheswold, you would go in there around 9pm and they would have one line open, all the self check outs closed. I asked the manger why doesn't he get on a register and help out. He said he didn't have a cash bag. YOUR THE MANAGER!!! it was just stupid and disorganized. And he just walked away while one lonely cashier worked the entire line. The Camden store should have been built across the street. There was a huge lot readily available for a grocery store Instead they built the store on this postage stamp size lot and with traffic can be very difficult to exit onto the highway especially making a right turn. The parking lot is very compact and congested To make matters worse they built a drug store on the same property. I try not to go there unless I have to. its not worth having someone back into my car. When I have went there I have gotten bad lunch meat at the Camden store, I have had several frozen items look like they were defrosted and put back in the case (as all the food would be slid to one side of the package). I got two packs of Entamens cakes, dropped one off to a friend and kept the other, the second day I went to get a piece of it and there were bugs in it, I called my friend, there were bugs in his package too and he had not even opened it. The common denominator was Redners Camden location. They didn't get bugs from my house... The worse experience I EVER had was with the self check out, it kept messing up. The lady who was watching over the checkouts came over and basically scolded me and was pulling stuff out of my bags telling me I can't put the bags in the cart until I pay, but I was running out of room. I said to her, if you would open more lines, I wouldn't have to use the self check out for a whole cart of groceries. She was also rude to another customer who sarcastically said "thanks for all your help" and the employee didn't even realize the customers was being sarcastic. There are two particular supervisors if they still work there to seem to just stand around and act like your bothering them.... This is not a very good store and yet we have three horrible Redners in Dover. I wish someone would come give them a good run for there money and customer service. Now I have had many nice cashiers but they seem to leave after they realize how bad...
Read moreRedners is fine. However, I'm only giving it 3 stars because of how frustrating and annoying the self checkout machines are. They bark at you non-stop to put your items on the bagging area. Immediately after scanning an item, it barks at you and then forces you to press a button on the screen to continue.
It's not so bad the first few visits, but when you go multiple times a week, it becomes very infuriating.
Just let me freaking scan my items and proceed to the damn checkout screen. You guys put 1-2 people there watching us check out. Do not force me to immediately put my items in the bagging area. Do what Walmart does and just let me put my items where ever the hell I want to put them and just let me checkout. Stop treating your customers like untrusted criminals. If someone was wanting to steal something, I promise you this machine barking at them (especially when they can press the button on the screen to continue) will not stop them from doing so.
As it is now, I actively chose to go to Walmart for larger shopping trips solely because I would absolutely lose my mind doing this for large shopping trips. For the love of god change this so that I can stop spending the VAST majority of my...
Read moreA very poor experience. Had not one but several overcharges going through self-checkout, at 2 pm on Sunday, December 20th, Miss Patrina and Miss Jackie, as they require themselves to be called, were so indifferent and removed from the moment, they could care less about what was going on behind them and there was quite a bit. With the store full and all lanes clogged, Patrina never got out of her chair even once. When I politely confronted them about the pricing errors, they behaved like two pit bulls. Not one ounce of kindness and compassion and they had several opportunities to show some, especially during the Christmas weekend. They should be demoted to mopping floors for 5 years and have nothing to do with customer service. They should not be exposed to human beings. They ruined Redner's reputation. The rest of the employees were great but Patrina and Jackie ruined it all for them. They lied and misrepresented Redner's. After all that transpired, and it wasn't all that much, just a few price corrections, they did not even think to apologise and when I wished them well upon departing they completely ignored me and scoffed at me in an effort to insult. Come on Redner's, I'm sure you are...
