I love this park! The people responsible for maintaining it, truly care about it. There's lots to do for all ages: fields for playing football or soccer etc, a baseball diamond, trails, horseshoe pits, pavilions and grills etc for get-togethers, and for the little ones there's a play center/area with swings and rope bridges and tunnels and just everything a kid needs to wear themselves out!!

There was an incident a couple of weekends ago, where we were having my niece's birthday party at Brecknock Park and when we arrived to set up we found the park just completely trashed! Some group of HORRIBLE people had come out the night before and had some kind of DISGUSTING party, where they left the bathrooms in an undescribable state of horror, as well as, ALL their trash strewn across the park, which included liquor bottles and half smoked joints, and the worst was the insane number of heroin bags we found EVERYWHERE! The poor man who's the main person in charge of the park upkeep cares so much about his park that he came off vacation to come out and try to get take care of the damage these people had done! And one of the other workers was so upset about what she saw when she got there that she cried. Thankfully, there are good people in this world, who care, and between us, them, and the park staff, we got the majority of the trash and mess cleaned up in about an hour and a half and were able to enjoy my niece's birthday party in this...

I went there with our friends and their grandson. The playgrounds have so many different activities and the play area is protected with a fence surrounding the large play area. There were many children there having a great time. What I didn't know was that there was also an angel there I had been sitting on the bench by the swings When it was time to leave I had grabbed our trekking poles and three of our water bottles, what I did not realize was that I left my cell on the bench. I did not realize what I forgot until we got home, We ran back though I believed it could not still be there. We got back to the park and on the bench was my cell phone. A woman had been guarding it the whole time, waiting for us to return. I cannot thank this angel enough and I plan to pay it forward as many times as I am able.
