A spectacular experience! First, Camden is a picturesque town on the west side of Penobscot Bay in Midcoast Maine. Pleasant in the warm weather and, for the hardy, magnificent in winter. Plenty of shops, restaurants and supply stores are open year-round to make it a destination. The Quarters at Lyman-Morse is for both mariners and land-travelers and affords an amazing view of the harbor and downtown, directly across the water. At our mid February 2025 visit, there were no employees to provide parking instructions, room keys and the other usual exchanges but it is all capably and thoughtfully handled online. Stepping into the room (Windwalker in our case but there are others) makes you look, smile and say "Wow". Every item is well thought through and clean. A 12' wide floor to ceiling window faces the harbor and the adjacent 9' wide window looks over the moored Schooners (see pics) with lit Christmas trees atop their masts to Mt. Battie and its tower. There is a relaxing common area servicing three rooms which has a stove, fridge, µwave, TV, games etc. while each individual room has a private bathroom and large, rather unforgettable bedroom. One minor problem - the sheets are too short for the King bed. They need to fix that....
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here in the Windwalker room for a couple of nights on vacation. ||Pros: views and private balcony are INCREDIBLE, large bathroom and nice common area (shared with 2 other rooms), free water taxi (in summer) to town or just a short walk, tons of great spots on the wharf itself, spacious room, pretty good soundproofing between rooms||Cons: bed was a bit worn down with a large hump in the middle from usage, thermostat doesn’t seem to have direct control of the room temp (never got too bad but prefer to sleep colder, admittedly did not reach out to staff to inquire so could have been missing a step), bathroom had an odd smell intermittently throughout our 2 nights there||Overall a nice splurge given the views and how relaxing it was staying on the wharf rather than the...
