My girlfriend and I accidentally found this gem of a market while attending a small fair nearby. They do a great job of luring you in with cheap, healthy fruit that is regularly rotated. Keep in mind if it's very cheap it's probably closer to going bad or they have way too much of it. Inside the shop you'll find a lot of interesting local treasures or fascinating Russian imports. We tried a variety of new treats and such that we'd never seen, heard of, or tried before and were pleasantly surprised by every one. They seem to only keep stuff in the store that is quality in one sense or another. As a side note they had cream top Straus milk, an item we'd been looking to find for quite some time. The vegetables (found near the back of the store) are also very reasonably priced relative to big grocery stores. Just keep in mind, a lot of other items are imports or local so you'll be paying a slight premium. Personally, I just don't mind paying a ~20% surplus for...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer for many many years. Yesterday I bought some russian cottage cheese. Came home, tried it and it was rotten. I looked at the expiration date and realized that the product was expired. Today I came to the store and asked them to exchange it for the fresh item. I was told that since I do not have a receipt and all the rest of the bags in the refrigerator were good for a month and as such they will neither refund me or replace the item.
Now, for a $5.00 item, they have lost a very good customer as I shopped in that store exclusively for my russian food and most of my produce and now I will never go to the store again. I am also very active in a russian community and word to mouth really hurts businesses. This was the worst customer service ever and I would not recommend anybody shopping...
Read moreThey don’t have prices on the shelves and the cashiers are just guessing the prices. The manager mentioned that they are charging the price every week for their merchandise?! For real?! I’m not quite sure this is a fair marketing strategy. You might loose customers in the future with this attitude. I’m not talking about fruits or veggies, I’m talking about kids snacks for God sake. A kid’s snack will increase every 2 weeks with 1$?! Really? I will try to find a different store because in getting tired, this is the 4th time that we are experiencing this. Very disappointed. Plus you might want to check the availability on your product more often because a lot of them are expired on the...
