As a former student of CalCC, I want to write a review on how the language skills I learned from the school had helped me a lot in getting admission into MBA program at CSU East Bay.

Just like many other ESL institutions, basically you will learn English. However, what makes the school different from others is the effectiveness of the program. All the grammar, listening and reading skills, and writing techniques are practical, easy to learn and sufficient for you to use daily and academically. You might doubt it at first, but believe me, after just about 1 year of studying at the school, I was able to get TOEFL score of 90 at my first try. A score of 80 is a standard for a master degree. It could reach 100 at some highly competitive universities. But I want to emphasize the importance of your self-practice also. You need to use it in some way even though there is no homework or an assignment. Your self-practice is important for you not to forget what you have learned.

Another special thing about the school is the devotion that all instructors have to their students. They are willing to help you as long as you need their assistance. You can ask them to write recommendation letters, or ask them about other tests that you cannot study at CalCC. I studied GRE myself at the same time I took English classes at CalCC. I can say that all the help from knowledgeable instructors had helped me get high enough score on GRE examination to get admission into my MBA. Obviously, the program itself and the constant assistance from instructors provide you more than enough English competency to survive and succeed in higher education environment.

Last, the school offers affordability and friendly environment. Tuition is relatively competitive I can say. The class is friendly and interactive. There is a kitchen for you to cook occasionally, but you will need dean’s permission for it. Frequent field trips give you chance to interact with classmates and other people, help you to review what you learned, and relax your mind with some enjoyable food.

All in all, this will be a right place for those who are looking for an ESL institution where they can learn, practice, interact,...

Amazing English programs. Highly recommend for long term and short term students. Small college that provides personalized education in a safe environment. Both Academic and Professional Language learning programs meet the requirements of higher education, for either College, Bachelor's, and Graduate programs. I transitioned from a Basic English A2 level to a Professional Prep C1 in CalCC. After this language training, I was transferred to a higher Educational level institution and I had no problems coping with the demands of Graduate level language requirements thanks to the learning environment of CalCC. You will learn academic language learning focused on communication and if you have professional language training program you will have to write MLA and APA format essays. Therefore, you are expected to develop reseach papers. Their language preparation has quality and it is reliable. They also accomodate international students in their programs so this is a plus if Students are planning to learn English on a...

y name is Levent Agdas but everybody calls me as Leo at Calcc. I am from Turkey. I've been in the US for 4 years. During this period of the time I've studied at 4 different ESL schools.

CalCC was the last one for me because it was totally different than the others. I've studied at CalCC for two years. During this period of the time, I've felt like I was at home with my family . Atmosphere is super friendly here.

I'd like to say "thank you" to somebody here.

First of all, Thank you all of my teachers ! I've learned a lot of things from you, not only English!

I've learned how to debate! I've learned how to speak in front of the crowds in self-confidence! I've learned not to give up and fight with the difficulties in the life! I've learned a lot of things from you, my dear friends !

Lastly, I'd like to say I strongly recommend Calcc to all ESL student. You'll like and enjoy it.

Thanks everybody for everything you've...
