-scammed of 70$ -bitchy sales persons - I never post reviews. Because I beilive each person should have an oppurtunity to win any client that walks through their doors. This on the other hand, was the most infuriating sales experience I have ever had in my life! Avoid this place at all costs! Order a dress online where you can return it for free, includeing return shipping.
What happened- we bought a dress that the sales person insisted we can alter the dress. Suprise! They don't know anything about alterations. After buying the dress and taking it to the alterations we are quoted at 120$ for an alteration on a 300$ dress. We signed a contract saying we can't return or exchange. Which makes sense, I'm sure they are sick and tired of people buying dresses and wearing them and returning them. But I bought it on a Tuesday and returned it on a Friday. No occasion -- no weekend.
We call in, saying hey we want to exchange thank the lord they approved. At this point we are in their mercy.
So we drive out, a 2hr drive. We walk in with 30 minutes left till closing to exchange the dress. ten minutes in, not even a hi from anyone. They clearly glare at us for walking back in with a dress bag. Again, we where not helped for a good 10 minutes. In order to save time since they started nagging 30 min before closing that they where closing, we where changing in a open dressing room, that was close too the racks so we can find something quickly and walk out. At this point 3 ladies decided to bombard us saying "we usually don't have people changing without a consultant" well THEN WHY DONT YOU COME CONSULT ME WITH YOUR NON-EXISTANT WISDOM.
After the lady moved us to the other side she continued to completely disregard any of our requests to find the dress in our size instead of lecturing us that we can't do anything without her.
Now to top all this off, the dress I picked is 79$ cheaper than the original one I bought. When I asked hey, well then can't you just return the differences? Another sales person says "no I heard you on the phone you where told you need to forfeit the difference" which we where not. Proof: I have a recording. We where only told "equal or greater value" but if they had any dignity or respect they would honor at least this MERE REQUEST FOR OUR TROUBLES WITH THEM!!!
So overall, this experience was a horrid one. No harm would have been done if the sales person just decided to refund the difference. Clearly the dress wasn't worn, and it was sold out! So they won't have a problem reselling it.
In fact, they voided the first payment on my card and recharged me for the same amount on the cheaper dress!!!
UNBEILIVABLE!!
If you want to enjoy your experience: go somewhere else!! Otherwise they will...
Read moreMy experience at Trudy’s was good. Partially because I knew what I wanted to try on and what I wanted.
The day the 2020 Disney collection was released and saw Trudy’s was a retailer in the area that was going to carry it, I booked an appointment for July online.
Someone called me back to confirm my appointment. Before hanging up I asked about some of the Disney dresses I wanted to try on. The person on the phone stated that there is no guarantee they will have the Disney ones come July. Really wanting to see what a particular dress looked like I asked, “When is the earliest appointment I can book to ensure that I can try the dress?” They consulted their buyer, and gave an estimate as to when it will be on their racks and we booked an appointment 1.5 weeks away from the date of the collection release and I chose the morning when they opened, which it was commented that it was a good choice as there will not be a lot of people and just the cleanliness (pandemic period) of the place since it is at opening.
This appointment is also during a pandemic so I asked what their safety practices are. The person on the phone told me they run at half the consultants, request we bring only 3 guests. At the time of the call masks were not required and up to the bride and guests if we wanted to wear a mask.
My appointment day arrives. In between booking my appointment and the day-of masks were made required and was stated on the door. Abiding by the rules I only brought 3 guests. In other parties we could see that some were bringing way more than 3 guests. Some in my party are over 60+ and have an immunocompromised at home. I carried on with my appointment but felt a little anxious.
When we got there, the dresses I mentioned on the call were already in the room. The stylist asked me a few questions about the other types of dresses I liked picked some that were similar in design to the dresses mentioned on the call, but in different shapes that did, but also didn’t work for my body. I wasn’t sold on the other dresses that were chosen.
It is hard to tell if the stylist I had could actually tell what worked for me or was just aiming to sell me on the dresses that were on the higher end of my budget. So not sure how much she helped. Not entirely her fault, I believe I was pretty sold on the dress I saw! The star deduction is for not enforcing the 3 guests thing or informing those that booked appointments of the rules: mask, 3 guests, and etc....
Read moreOn Sunday morning, I had the pleasure of visiting Trudys to find the right bridal dress for my upcoming wedding. The place was pristine, spacious, and refined. I was warmly greeted and welcomed by the staff. My guests and I were directed to the “Crystal” area to wait for my assigned stylist. I found out that I was assigned to Didi, the Buying Manager/Stylist, who has been a part of Trudys’ family for over 15 years. Even the co-owner Rebekah came by, speaking highly of Didi—I knew then I was in good hands. Didi was very knowledgeable, professional, personable, attentive, and outgoing. She was intentional in making the most of our time together and really listened to what I was looking for. I had made a list of attributes for the dress, shared my budget for the dress, and showed her examples of the dress I was looking for. Didi also asked me more details about the wedding itself to have a better understanding of what would fit the setting, but also my personality. I was open to her advice and guidance on finding the right dress for “me.” I was appreciative of how she made my guests and I feel at ease and comfortable with the whole process. I was happy with the dress I ended up choosing, but I was also grateful to be a part of the Morilee event and collaboration in funding pancreatic cancer research and treatment. It was nice to have also met Steven, Owner of Trudys, and to learn about the touching story behind his mother. In addition, I had the opportunity to share my own experiences, as a social worker, working with older adults with complex medical and mental health issues, which included the terminally ill (e.g., cancer patients). My day was meaningful because of my guests’ support and the staff’s hospitality, but it was made “special” because I was able to contribute to an important cause in honor of Trudy. I wish I could have met Trudy before her passing, but I felt her spirit and loving energy among the staff members and owners - Rebekah and Steven. Thank you Didi, Rebekah, Steven, and the Trudys family for a memorable and lovely day. I am ecstatic that I was able to say “YES”...
