We were in town for a long weekend of sightseeing. I wanted to see ships depart from Port Canaveral typically starting at 4:00 pm. You can download a schedule to know which ships depart on any given day. The cost to enter is $15 per day beginning at 7 am. No cash is accepted at the gate. You must pay online in advance. However, there is a small parking area to complete the process if it wasn’t completed ahead of time. We spent time walking on the pier and walking around. People were fishing from the pier and rocks. There is a store that sells bait and a small restaurant. The campground is within easy walking distance of the jetty viewing area. It’s quite an experience to see the huge ships and tugs pass by and fun to wave at the passengers who also wave back during sail away.

We’ve been coming here for years first with our kids and now in retirement. They have a fishing bait shop, restrooms, girls playground lots to do for the family here if you want to watch the cruise ships go out from Port Canaveral they go right by within 200 feet of the shore, if you’re in the park, the beach is flat good for walking and stay shallow for a while so kids can swim without too much issue. Nonresident cost $15 to get into the park which is about what you’ll pay for parking downtown Cocoa Beach or at the pier so they’re competitive. It’s a great place to just hang out and enjoy the sun in the beach. You will need to download and buy a ticket in advance to get into the park. They no longer take cash at the booth so that’s a bit of a pain.

Went here to watch a Falcon 9 rocket launch and landing and it was great for both! Paid for parking online beforehand for $15usd which apparently secures you a spot at the park. The parking was ample although I could see for certain launches you'd need to be parking on grass. The playground there was fun for the kids but targeted for those under the age of 7. The beach was great with beautiful views of the rocket launch. Would probably recommend coming at least one hour prior to launch to make sure you get appropriate parking. Leaving was a little congested but nothing unreasonable.

This port and beach was built by the Federal Government in the 1950's and then turned over to The Canaveral Port Authority. They charge $15 a day for parking or $12 for military. They do not except America the Beautiful because they are no longer Federal owned. It is a nice beach but why the high fee to park? This location makes money off the camp ground, concessions and assume still receives federal and state funding. I wrote to the governors office, my US congress rep and both US FL senators asking them why the high parking fee? This beach was built with federal dollars and supported by state and federal funds. There are only a small number of parking spots so any claims this beach will become over crowded if parking fees are...
