Let me start by saying that when I was offered a special stay & I was quiet excited. I knew going into this that I was required to attend a time share presentation, which was fine because I was interested to see what the options were and how the whole thing worked. I was told, this is the cost, you will stay across the street at our sister (hotel) location and that my family and I would be able to enjoy all of the amenities of the actual Resort (time share). When I booked I was also charged additional money for peak season booking which I could understand since it was during the FL spring break time. Upon arrival I was greeted with smiles and told there would be $100 HOLD placed on my credit card which most of that would be refunded at the end of our stay because we were responsible for taxes for the room...TAXES. This was never explained to me for this stay while accepting the special offer or during the booking process. The hotel itself is beautiful and very clean, its a newer location so I wouldn't expect anything less. The room was lovely and very clean. I have to say, I always love their pillows and they tend to have the best shower heads at every location. Next day, breakfast. This was a Sunday so breakfast was offered until 10am, its also Cruise departure day. When we arrived at 9:30am the breakfast was very picked over, 2-3 milks, no fruit, the pancake machine was broken and the selection overall was limited. For a place to be right there at the cruise port area you'd think that they would be aware of this happening on certain days and be more prepared. The coffee was very nice each day! In past stays at other locations the breakfast changed up a bit each day. During our stay it was exactly the same each day. Fast forward to check out. Upon approaching the desk, I noticed a new employee that I had not seen during my stay. She (Roseann) was on the phone when I walked up so I gave her time to finish things up. After a few moments I said good morning, we are checking out today, she (Roseann) immediately said hold on, I'm right in the middle of something with an irritated tone. I was quiet taken back by this since I have always received such kindness when staying at any IHG hotel. She (Roseann) then asked my room number and gave me my bill (checkout statement) I asked why I was charged $121 and she stated it was for taxes, parking, amenities and Wi-Fi (which they say is free). I explained to her that I was never told of all of these fees that cost me additional money. Her response was I don't know what to tell you these are just the fees for anyone staying here. I asked again why this was not explained to me prior to check out, her response again was that's just the fees. I asked why we were charged for Wi-Fi which again they state is free, she said its premium Wi-Fi so you are. I am still not sure what to think about these erroneous fees and very rude and unwelcoming attitude. I will be reaching out...
