Cape Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Cape Canaveral

My sister and I thought that after a rough timeshare meeting for 3 hours, that we would enjoy a happy hour drink and some food from the restaurant in the hotel. We ordered 2 margaritas initially, one watermelon and one normal flavored one, both were handed to us neon orange colored. I asked another bartender if their watermelon liquor was this color and if I got the right one, to which she responded with "I don't know" and walked away. She then whispered to the bartender that made it and the bartender yells out loudly in a mocking tone "how stupid do you have to be to ask if watermelon has a certain color?" and they both giggled as we stared at them. As we waited 20 more minutes to order once we were being ignored and spoke up again, we ordered crab cakes and the gator bites. The gator bites were HORRENDOUS. it was like eating a tire in raw batter. But, the food runner CHARLIE, initially tossed our plates on the table aggressively and when he asked if we needed anything, we responded asking for ranch, he looks down at our table confused and says "for what?" and walked off. He then brings it back and tosses it on the table to where it spills and he walks off again. I had to send back the gator bites and was waiting on a to go order, charlie comes to clean tables and is removing everything from our table, I tell him that we are waiting on wings and he said "whatever" and tosses down our table marker back on the table. At this point we are just so appalled. He finally brings the wings back out, plops them down on the table and says BYE BYE NOW!, stares waiting for us to say thank you, when he realizes we wont, he goes "I SAID its your wings!", to which we still didn't respond, and he stormed off. Absolutely will never step back on the sand in cape Canaveral. this was just such...

I’m giving 1 star because The food we had has no flavor. I came here to eat and feel good about my meal.

I was disappointed in the lack of seasoning. The chicken wings tasted like a boiled wing. Zero salt. The skin had no flavor.

I enjoy eating, I cook. It’s really not good food.

Also, they are described as “jumbo” they are just regular wings like…. Small. Will need an idiot sauce in any form to get flavor and enjoyment: the blue cheese is top notch to conceal their lack of care or ability in a kitchen. If it was your staff I’m sorry. Make them use salt or SOMETHING. It’s sad. If it’s your ingredients, I think you can do better for the cost. $2 a wing For small flavorless wings :/ I swear they were like an inch in a half long wings and scrawny.

The alligator also has no flavor on this day. Did they even add salt to the batter? I truly do wonder Nice and crisp. But again no flavor

The fish and chips, Meh: nothing to write home about. Fish had ZERO flavor. I tried the breading alone. ZERO SALT. Like…. I’m genuinely kinda surprised.

Will need any idiot sauce to add flavor to these.

Bacon cheeseburger was good. Very good. Carmalized onion bacon spread was delicious. Meat had no flavor.

All and all. For the price

It’s not worth stopping here. Cook at home or go elsewhere.

For years we've enjoyed walking to Cape Grill for a quick and convenient bite. It's an easy walk from our condo and is one of our go-to breakfast spots.

I'm not exactly sure what's going on over there but the service has spiraled-down to bona fide lousy! You've been warned, lol!

The restaurant is clearly not staffed close to being effective. One, sometimes two servers, both clearly hate their jobs and almost seem to resent when a customer shows up to be seated. Very weird vibe going on - at least during breakfast. You've been warned, lol!

Yesterday, my daughter in law ordered the Belgian Waffle with Sausage for my 2-1/2 year old grand daughter. When the food runner showed up with our meals, my daughter in law mentioned that "We ordered sausage for the kids meal." The food runner looked at her paper and answered, "well, she (our server) wrote down bacon." Then walked away. What the actual hell just happened!?!? You've been warned, lol!

The food is pretty good, but it doesn't make up for the crappy service, poor staff training, lack of proper management staffing and overall poor experience. You've been warned, lol!

I recommend taking a hard pass on Cape Grill (at least for breakfast) and consider trying Grills at The Cove located nearby at Port Canaveral. Remember...you've been...
