Let me start with the place itself to camp at Deserve 5 stars. I have stayed here somewhere in the vicinity of 10-15 times either myself and family, or with several different groups. It is absolutely beautiful, very well kept, and has a variation of Lodge, RVsite, Primitive camping, and Camping +Water&Electric.
While there I have had a mixed bag of great and terrible customer service. Overall I do feel as it is as if we were bothering them by bringing our business too them. This can further be supported by they way they handle their incoming calls. When calling you can NEVER get a hold of someone, I feel they just forward all calls to the messaging system, and the messaging system is full, half of the time, so it become redundant. This is a terrible way to run a business, and a fine example of having placement of business and it's location bringing in all of it's business as opposed to any actual customer service.
The Largest Problem that I have with this place is that they reserve TOO many Water and Electric sites for RV and only a small handful can be had for tents. Personally I feel that if you are going to charge the same for a tent or RV it should be 1st come first serve. Or Have Some that are reserved for RV, some that are reserved for tents, and the rest can be a 1st come first serve, regardless of Tent or RV. There are too many times I have camped here that W&E tents sites are clear full, and Half of the RV sites are empty. I know management does not have direct control over this particular issue, but it should be brought to light and fixed, for the better general use and appreciation of this beautiful campsite. Again, though it's not like the management of this property cares about the people staying or this would be the only minor problem in an otherwise beautiful place. It's time for a management change, and forcing their employees to employ actual customer service not stand around and get a paycheck while we...
Read moreWe have been coming to this campground for over a decade. The last couple years they have really gotten strict about their check-in times. They used to have a policy that if the site was empty you could check in because obviously some people might leave at 9:00 a.m. in the morning and some others might leave at checkout which is at noon. We arrived 20 minutes before 2:00 p.m. and they would not allow us to check in even though the site was empty. We had to go to the day pass area and wait until 2:00 p.m.. as you can imagine this then forces everyone to be pulling into the campground at the exact same time. When we arrived to our site there was random pieces of garbage everywhere like bottle cap tops, cigarette butts and other random pieces of garbage. This isn't the first time this has happened to us upon check-in but it is the first time I'm writing a review about it. The site sits empty for 2 hours between checkout and check-in and nothing is done to the sites. They even have a policy that you are charged $100 if you do any sort of late checkout. So I'm wondering why are they so strict on it if they're not doing any maintenance of the sites in between campers.
They have built a new dump site on property because they are renovating and building a new office. The new dump station is extremely difficult to get into for larger RVs. It's obvious not a lot of thought went into the design and location of the dump site.
I will say that the staff is always super friendly which makes the camping experience that much better. The people in charge of making decisions here need to make some...
Read moreIt was barely like camping noone had fires. Most lots i looked to set up my tent were no fire allowed. They had some construction going on which they did make aware in booking. Camping to me is like wooded area kinda off grid feeling. Well if thats what your looking for this is not the spot to get that real camping feel. It was so quiet at night i felt if i made any peep i could be in trouble. So if your the drinking fire pit type of person. Again not the place for you. The staff was very friendly. When i arrived the staff was said to be available until 9pm. I arrived around 7:30pm i was kinda confused. There were no signs pointing saying office, or check in. So i called but there were no staff available. The recording redirected me to check my welcome email or what have you for any number i may need. I was thinking okay kool. I am the type to get a little anxious until i do what i need to make sure is done. So i open che k my email check all the things i could online to check in or get the number to see what i need to do. I only am seeing the number that directed me to check the package. And if the welcome package is the package they may give you when you check in well how am i to check it if i hadnt received it yet. So finally i just set up and had received a text message that had informed me to make sure i check in at 9 am. I Did not see that message until after i set up and undisturbed my messages. Other then feeling like i needed to be super quiet at 930 pm it was a nice and quiet experience, and the staff were very welcoming, and the pier very awesome in the night...
