I absolutely love this place!!! Carlsbad REALLY needed a place like this. The ONLY bummer for me ... was that my poor baby girl was just shy of being tall enough for the big slides. I’m hoping that she may have grown just enough to be able to go on them now. I guess I will find out today ... taking my daughter as a reward for exceeding ALL of her goals for Kindergarten this year AND because along side her diploma ... she was given an award for being the “ Best Reader in Class “ and also reading the most books outta her entire class!!! So ... this place is PERFECT for things like this!!! It’s also great to go as a family ... being able to take snacks & beverages that u can enjoy under a canopy at the tables they have there. I REALLY enjoy this place & often recommend to ALL of my friends ... ESPECIALLY the ones that have NEVER been to a water park. ALSO .... I think that the price is fair ... being that you are able to stay as long as you want ... or until they close ... the only thing that I wish they would change is that I think it would be nice if they offered like a season pass that u can purchase & use for the entire summer .... they should offer individual & family passes instead of ONLY charging the $5 per person each time. Thank you for bringing this fun place for us & families to enjoy with the...
Read moreSeemed great but my son and I both got sick after. The water smelled a little funny but I figured it was just the smell of the river across the fence. When we got back to the hotel, our skin and swim clothes smelled sour/rotten mixed with chlorine which was almost nauseating by itself. I even washed our suits in the shower with soap and I have never had to do that. Pretty sure we got Norovirus which is really easy to get from a pool if the water quality isn't maintained. All it takes is one sick person or more likely baby to have diarrhea or throw up in the pool and there to not be enough chlorine etc to keep the water sterile. This was the first activity on a 4 day weekend visiting Carlsbad. Well, we spent the whole second day sick in the hotel, day 3 same. Thinking about going back to Albuquerque early since we can't swim, and are too tired to wander around the cave or anything like that. We planned to come swimming here all 4 days of our vacation since my son is more interested in swimming than the caves, but we'll probably never go back. I'm an x-lifeguard, Divemaster, and Rescue diver and I have been to countless pools all over the USA, and abroad. I never smelled a pool like this and that includes saltwater pools. I'm sure we weren't the only ones...
Read moreThe lifeguards here don't really watch as they should. One was clearly taking a nap and another was on his phone taking selfies with another lifeguard and had his earpods in. I'm pretty sure since they're all young teenagers they would set their phones down and remove their earpods before they tried to jump in and save a kid. And when I brought this to their attention I was only given attitude. They also didn't have the water going on the little kids side because it was to windy even though there wasn't a breeze at all. I'm not sure why it matters even if it was windy considering your at a water park to get wet... So the kids had to go down slides that were hot because they didn't want to get wet. Water was extremely...
