I never like to leave negative reviews, but every so often I have a really negative experience and need to warn others. First off, the atmosphere was very cute and we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of The Cascades. Walking into the establishment, we had extremely high expectations for a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, we were proved wrong. Firstly, it took over 50 minutes for our food to come out after ordering. Our waitress never checked in with us after taking our order, and we believe she forgot to bring our order out after it was completed because the plate was hot, but the food was cold. There were maybe 3 other tables with customers in the entire restaurant, and it was not even remotely busy. We frequently saw our waitress talking to other staff members and not checking in on her tables. We did not even get refills on our water, which by the way, a glass of tap water is $1! I have never been to an establishment where a glass of tap water isn’t free. My friend, as a vegetarian, ordered the side Caesar salad for $7 and the mushroom rice pilaf for $9, and unfortunately the portion sizes were embarrassingly small. The mushroom rice pilaf did not even include mushrooms. It tasted identical to the bagged uncle Ben’s rice you would find at walmart. My food had no seasoning whatsoever, and tasted like it came out of a box. I was hoping to at least have the ability to put salt and pepper on my food to enhance it, however, our waitress did not check on us once after taking our order. In the end, we waited a long time to get our check. The only reason we got our check is because we had to flag down a host, and even still, we were brought a completely different check for $10 more than we had spent. It took a while to fix their mistake and bring us the correct check. We were very excited to try this establishment, and were extremely let down in the end. We will not...
Read moreThe food was really good - we tried the mushrooms, steak fingers, rib eye, and prawns and they were all well-cooked, well-seasoned, and had good sides. Same with the drinks - they were well made. The service was a little off though. We had one waitress take our order with the help of the owner, drinks never showed up, and a second waitress came by and got the drinks going while taking our food order. Then at the end of the meal they wound up comping our entire drink order because they couldn’t figure out which waitress to put the drinks under in the POS system. I’m not against free drinks but it was like $50 worth and that could stack up and hurt the business quickly if they’re doing that multiple times per night (kind of a Bar Rescue situation). It also made it awkward at the end of the meal because the waitresses were semi-arguing about who was in charge of the drink order in front of us. I do understand that they’ve only been open for about 6 weeks so I’d cut them some slack in that respect because they’re probably just ironing out how to do their service. If they get that part worked out it would be a 5-star for me. Overall worth...
Read moreQuick to get a seat. Once we were seated in dining room it was dueling music vs tv audio. Management could not figure out what they wanted to listen to so they played both simultaneously. We asked our dear waitress that was on her first day but management did not cooperate with noise level Food did not come out as ordered. My wife ordered chicken ceasar and came out with no chicken. Salad was old and wilted. I ordered. Bandito margarita and couldn’t take More than 1 sip as was horrible . Asked to have returned and waitress returned drink to bar. Management choose to only take 50% of drink cost off bill even tho i never drank it. Management did not even come and check in on issues. Recommend not going to this establishment as management does not seem to care about customer service or quality of...
