South Carlsbad State Beach — Attraction in Carlsbad

Even with the weather being overcast this last visit, this beach is one of my favorites. Long stretches of gorgeous shoreline... a mix of sand and rocks and amazing surf. A variety of surfers, shoreline chillers, kids playing at the water's edge body surfers and ocean swimmers are all welcome at this beach. . Fair warning though, because of the pebbles and rocks certain areas are a little abrasive to bare feet. So water socks or sandals will make it...

Camped here for Christmas and literally saw a dolphin jump up off a wave. Totally awesome beach and campground, I definitely recommend staying here for as long as legally allowed.

Perfect location and while there is everything you need nearby I don't see any reason why you'd want to leave this beach so pack everything up so you don't need to leave...
