Occasions in the past 3 years I've read all the reviews not all of them but very many and I would say that some have a little bit more they're a little bit more exaggerations in their reviews far from really what is bad about the hotel for example One reviews hated that the patio furniture was in terrible condition the patio furniture is in good condition there aren't any holes they set out blue towels for each lounge chair they have extra blue towels placed on a shelf next to the pool and the pool is literally crystal clear and it is beautiful so don't let some reviews deceive you. I consider it a family-friendly Hotel yes there are but all hotels do better to star or less they have persons that are transient that do seek shelter for a day or so and when the rooms however as long as you were a Vigilant parent and you don't let your kids run around without adult supervision you're not going to have any problems always supervise your children when they're at the pool cuz there is no lifeguard on duty children are so precious. As for the hotel room with no air conditioning. I do know which room that is and yes it is a hot box. It's extremely stuffy they should have addressed that issue 10 months ago when I was complaining about it there is no air coming out of that AC you can hear it run but it's blowing nothing out they need to get that fixed. I do highly advise anybody that stays in that room or gets that room to ask the front office to change your rooms you don't have to stay in the room that you were assigned you do pay for the room pay for a room that you're going to be happy in. Yes there are rooms that do not have microwaves or refrigerators those are the low price rooms. If you want a room with a refrigerator and a microwave you're going to pay about $15 more per night that's what you get to pay for some of them have hair dryers and have soap and shampoo but you have to spend the extra $15 they're not going to give it to you for $60 you'll have to pay $87 or $90 to get those type of rooms. As for towels I have never in the 3 years I've stayed at this hotel off and on I have ever had a problem getting towels and my towels have always been fluffy. The Linens and the towels are pure white they're clean and if you need more you walk down stairs and you go to where the linen area is where they wash the Linens and you ask the housekeeping if they could hand you a few more. But please please make sure you tip your housekeeping because those are extra things that they do above and beyond their job description it's a two-star hotel it's not in their job description to personally hand deliver towels to you. I considered the entire staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. I do have one concern over the new Staffing in the past 3 years all staff is always worn on Motel 6 shirt or name tag to identify themselves I highly recommend that that continues it I know that it sounds silly but people that come off the streets that want to go to a hotel they find it a more friendly hotel experience if the staff were wearing a shirt that had the company logo on it that way they feel a little bit more secure and they feel like they're being taken care of by the motel not just by a person but let me know let you know all the staff that I've encountered have always been very pleasant and actually I really like the young kid that works there with the baseball cap he's a superstar he knows exactly what to do with check in and he does it so much faster than any front desk person I've ever encountered and my entire lifetime so he's a rockstar. Weekdays it's pretty slow no noise it's quiet and peaceful weekends yeah you sometimes get the the revelers you know but you got to expect that because this is Carl's Bad and people like to have fun it's a great town to live in a great town to visit. As for the smoke smelling rooms yes I've had been given a room that's had still smoke smell go back to the front office I just request...
Read moretay, so… Contrary to most of the other reviews I’ve read about this Motel 6, it’s not all that terrible. Check in was a breeze. The price was exactly what I had agreed to when I booked the stay. The rooms look N-O-T-H-I-N-G like the glossy photos on the Ap and website or any of the booking platforms. The mattress on the bed is old, craters in the center and is horribly uncomfortable.
The rooms are not attended to or cleaned on a daily basis. I brought bleach and my own towels. And my own bottled water to drink. The laundry facilities were out of order whilst I was there. The water for the bath was hot, but you have to run the hot water in the sink for awhile before the tap runs hot.
When you ask for clean towels you are cheerfully and quickly accommodated. Leave the trash pail and soiled towels outside the door when you leave and when you return the pail is empty and there will be fresh towels ready for you.
If you are anything like me and absolutely cannot tolerate even the slightest whiff of stale cigarettes, be warned: DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE. I’m in the non smoking section of the building and a man about three doors down is standing outside his door puffing away.
The location is great if your sole goal is enjoying the beaches and the views. There’s a Benihana and a Holiday Inn right next door. The beach is within walking distance, and so is Ralph’s and other fast food restaurants.
The office staff were no nonsense and efficient. There is coffee in the morning. During my stay, it was pretty quiet. It’s clear there are residents who live here, but there was no noise or public behaviors. I was not bothered by the trains. In fact I never heard them at all.
It’s not fancy. It’s a motel. It’s no frills. Don’t book a room here if you’re wanting to lay in bed all day watching TV. But if you’re here for the beach or have an occupation, and just need a room after you’re done with a day spent elsewhere, for the money, it’s pretty basic.
It’s Motel 6. Even in Carlsbad, a Motel 6 is a Motel 6: Cheap. Utilitarian. Basic. Minimal. Not all that terrible, though. Not all that...

I have stayed in multiple rooms here, each stay lasting 2-3 weeks. Every room is filthy, whether it’s black fingerprints all over the walls and doors, mold on the ceiling, under the sink and around the shower, crusty stains on the busted mattresses or mystery fluids splattered across the tattered curtains. The first time I went to ask about it, the girl at the front desk (who had checked me in and out multiple times before) told me it was her first day.
