Primo Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Carlsbad

Some is excellent and some is hit or miss. We would go once a week until the last month or so.

The Hit- Calzone is always a 10! Literally best around, can’t ever go wrong with it. It’s very good sized and worth every penny. Cheesy, well cooked, loaded, and so much flavor. Everyone I’ve had try it loves it. Spaghetti is great, daughter loves it. Fettuccini Carbonara is great, flavorful, filling, rich, very well done. Always grab one for the table and it’s gone right away. Pizza can be a 10 on any given day and nothing can compare when they are in point. When made right and coked right it’s a medium crust- not thick not thin but perfect, cheesy, flavorful, moist, cheese overloads, rich, toppings well placed, crust is dialed, and it’s cut all the way through relatively uniformed.

The miss- pizza can come terrible, over cooked and like cardboard, super hard. A lot of the cheese is black, taste burnt, and for some reason very thin. It’s cut but the crust is thin and hard so it’s not cut through and it kind of broke apart. Always ask for extra cheese and sometimes they nail it and sometimes it’s literally like chuck-e-cheese on a bad day. Tried to figure out a rhyme or reason to why it’s so hit or miss but never could. Last time was inedible-literally- but time before it was again the best I ever had. I made Pies in my younger years and know who makes it matter. I’m assuming it’s different cooks, some really turn out a good product, some don’t care. I’d say QC needs to happen and not let card board pizza leave the place. Ive seen about 50/50 on the hood vs bad Which sucks, cause it’s so good you try again, but then so bad you say never again. Sometimes door dash for my kids and get a salad and pasta.

Were like 5 mins away and food always comes hot and in great shape no issues other then the ranch dressing. Salad very good size and well made, but extra ranch means two tiny little ranches, that honestly don’t even wet the lettuce. We keep a bottle handy so just make sure your prepared in that front,

Hmm! We walked in everything was looking good....Until I ordered a bottle of pinot noir and pizza, pasta! received plastic cups, p.s. dont really care about the plastic cups! Food i do. It gets better! The plastic/cardboard kept on coming! I dont know if its a Carlsbad thing or what! So sad delicious food gets ruin by cardboard plates literally! I thought I was eating pizza but I was also eating a topping I did not ask for! Check the picture. I asked for hot sauce and the where's Waldo looking guy just simply said NO! Whats happening to customer service? The other gentleman must of realized Waldo looking guy needs to be on the bench! Gentleman offered red pepper flakes and siracha! Thank you sir! You were outstanding and generous! P.s. I always tip over 20%50% for actual service! Dirty plates were infront of us for way over 30 minutes! They were too busy catching up on movie's they've watched. BASICALLY STAY AWAY! SHOULD BE YOUR LAST OPTION UNLESS YOU'RE DOING TAKE OUT! The only great thing about this dump is the PIZZA!...

Delicious! I've had the "build your own calzone" a number of times, and the list of options includes some faves of mine that aren't always easy to find, such as garlic, sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts.

They let me substitute feta in place of ricotta, which makes me feel like I'm getting an extra topping... It was their suggestion to help me get all the extras I wanted, how smart and considerate - they don't charge me for that!

The guys who work there are always super nice. I actually saw Ryland (one of the managers) have great patience with a difficult customer once who was trying to intimidate him (completely undeserved), which gave me great respect... All the guys remained calm and respectful and did their best during a challenging situation.

I'll probably never try their pizza because I have found the perfect calzone, so there's no need 😄

And the black tie dessert with brownies and thick chocolate icing (not overly rich) is highly recommend for its high-quality...
