Ocean Crest Spa — Local services in Carlsbad

Had a lovely spa experience at Ocean Crest on New Year’s Eve. My husband and I had a couples massage and both really enjoyed the massages received. My therapist was Robert and my husband’s was Jessica. Both therapists were attentive and listened to our concern areas and were very welcoming. We don’t drink so they offered us juice and tea when offered the champagne which was very thoughtful. My massage was well balanced and somewhat of a sports massage I work at a long hours desk job and my forearms are always very very tight he did a great job easing that out without being painful. The neck and shoulder focus was just right and plenty of time was given to legs and arms. The hand massages was very relaxing and while the foot massages was more of an acupressure situation than a rub I enjoyed the tension release gained and consider it a style of the therapist as no two massages are ever the same. I would get a massage here again and request the same therapists. My husband said Jessica really focused on tight areas in his shoulders and says it’s easily in the top 1 or 2 massages he’s had. We were at a high-end spa in San Pellegrino Termé, Italy, in October and the massages were great but this rivaled that and are pleasantly surprised. The steam room is small but plenty for the facility size we enjoyed it both before and after the massages. The amenities are a nice but simple; i.e. shower supplies in the showers and blow dryers available for the ladies, we were staying in the hotel attached so we did not use them entirely, just a quick rinse post steam room. There were a number of ladies taking advantage of the offerings and one in particular, a local, told me she frequents this spa for facials so perhaps we will try that next time! The relaxation room is a tad lacking. The tea offerings are lovely and there was some fruit but it was whole pieces so that doesn’t really lend to eating in a robe or quickly while waiting to go in for an appointment. If you’d like a small snack I’d just do the flatbread at the hotel restaurant before or after instead. Overall a...

1st visit. Booked a spa pedicure for me & my boyfriend. Beautiful spa located within hotel. From the valet attendant to the spa front desk person & nail technicians, everyone was pleasant & greeted us with smiles. We spent some time dipping our legs in the hotel jacuzzi & sunbathing until the nail technician came & got us.

The pedicure station is in its own separate room of the spa, which is nice to offer guests that privacy. I don't like how traditional nail salons are completely open and everyone can see you getting your service. This private setup is way better in my opinion.

The nail technicians (Janette & Victoria) were very sweet and the service was relaxing and met my expectations. There was little bit of technical failure with the pedicure chairs' water temperature/jets not functioning properly, but not too major of a problem that it interrupted the enjoyment of the service. I would definitely return for a pedicure. Pricing is comparable to those stand alone nail salons. So between the 2, I'd rather go here since it's the same price, but nicer facilities & experience.

Please book an 80 minute deep tissue massage - you will not regret it! A friend and I stayed at the resort (for work) and decided to book a couple's massage (same massage room) for a birthday celebration. Talk about HEAVEN! Regardless of what type of massage you book, it is 100% custom tailored to you. The technician I was so lucky to get was PHENOMENAL and I couldn't be more impressed and thankful! I'm a fan of medium to firm on intensity and she delivered above and beyond! Overall, from the moment we walked in, the environment felt absolutely amazing! Every single staff we interacted with was so sweet, tea and lemon water is offered while waiting (I recommend the Jasmine tea - yum!), the entire process is very comforting and homey, and champagne is provided after your massage. There are also showers and a steamroom available. We sat outside on the patio sipping champagne after having all the stress melted away and it was the BEST kickoff to our day!
