What a wonderfully designed course. So many great holes and shots to play. I could play this place every day for a year and it would still be fun and enjoyable. Even if I do lose a few balls to the hazards or out of bounds. Just the drive on the cart path was worth the price. I played a twilight tee time. Grouped our twosome with a single and we all had a great afternoon of golf. I'm sure there will be people who had bad days or lost a dozen balls and will be upset. But I find I finish with a smile regardless of my score here. I hope you get to play a round here and feel that same magic. If you're one of those low handicaps or scratch guys who have the long ball and need to get clearance from air traffic control. Playing from the blacks/tips will probably have you feel like a kid again when you clear those big ravines or the valley. Just watching people smash driver over it makes me smile. The air traffic control part is a nod to the Carlsbad airport, which is very close to the course and you'll likely catch a few flights leaving Carlsbad fly overhead out to the ocean. Which you can also see. The views here have to be witnessed to appreciate how amazing they are. This is a long, challenging but fun course at a fair price for what you get.
The pro shop is friendly. I love the new fobs they went with for the range balls. It's always comfortable going in and talking to the pro shop and getting advice that is well headed.
The food here is excellent. The staff here really greet you with a smile, there hasn't been anything I've had here that I didn't like. Another chance to enjoy the great views offered here. Another place where the staff make your experience enjoyable.
Don't let the price deter you from a great day. Once you're driving up to that next tee box and breathing fresh ocean air and possibly catching glimpses of the wildlife in the nature preserve. It really is a beautiful place. The many bridges or crossings which gives the course it's name give the course a unique feel that is often understated by patrons. Be mindful of out of bounds. Take your drop. Don't go in there to retrieve a mis hit shot please. If you are worried about losing a precious ProV1 or other premium ball of your own choosing, please play one you're more comfortable losing on those shots where hazards or out of bounds are in play. You'd have had a great round if you finish with the same ball. That's a feat as good as par when you're done on 18 and pocketing the same one you tee'd up on 1.
There are snakes, predatory birds, rabbits, and many other creatures that consider that area home. No ball is worth getting bit, stung, or destroying a habitat during a round of golf. I left this part last. Because I wanted to leave it out. But I think this is an amazing course. And we should all be responsible for it staying this way. Enjoy your round. Have a nice meal. Meet some new friends. I think you'll find the price is well worth...
Read moreI absolutely loved our venue and wedding at The Crossings. The entire process was completely stress free and it was everything we ever wanted. We found this venue on the knot and wanted something close to the beach but not on the water. I read many of the reviews and noticed how everyone seemed to really love this place. We booked our first appointment and met with Sandy who broke down all the packages and reviewed any questions we might have had. There was a July 4th promotion at the time which included upgrades as well. The moment we walked away from the appointment my husband and I knew we wanted to book. The venue is beautiful, and the place just felt warm and welcoming. Once we booked, Megan was assigned to us as our day of coordinator. I can’t say enough amazing things about Megan, she is kind, sweet, fun, and extremely helpful. She layed out everything we need to know and decisions to make over the next few months. I asked her for her personal feedback on many decisions and she was always willing to help! Our communication was solid from day one, again talk about stress free!! Megan constantly responded to our emails, and communicated every bit of detail. On the day of, we also had Maddie helping out. I saw both of them constantly helping out and guiding our guests, checking on us and ensure we were sticking to our timeline. I even saw them pouring water for our guest and helping the wait staff walking out food. Now thats teamwork! I really appreciated them both for a great day. The food we went with was the filet mignon and the chicken for our guests to choose. Hands down, best filet ever. Our guests raved about how great the food was and I personally will be going back because I still think about it. My guests really loved the venue as well, constantly complimenting the entire day and how seamless it was. They thought everything went extremely smooth and it really did! We are still getting compliments! Hands down this venue was the best decision ever. This place fit everything we were looking for and more and they NAILED IT! Thank you to The Crossings for such a...
Read moreMy two daughters and myself arrived for lunch and enjoyed the patio seating. We were longtime residents of Carlsbad but had never been here and heard it was a lovely venue - and it of course was. The service was excellent and the food was good. I wanted to give it a 5 star but could not for the following reasons: The drink menu did not include the bloody marys and seems we must return on the weekend for that. We did order a drink that had champagne in it but it just tasted like a glass of champagne to me and my daughter as well - disappointing. We decided to order the wings, a wedge salad, and the reuben sandwich. The wings were excellent, rueben had layers of bread and lacked substance, and the wedge wasn't a classic wedge but a spinach salad with too much dressing which made it soggy and topped with loads of pickled onion, I did not see any desserts on menu and ordered a cup of coffee after meal. No specialty coffees, but a cup of peets coffee. For close to a hundred dollar lunch for three, my expectations are a little higer. I hope to return, but will come try the weekend brunch. I can see the inside looks like a perfect place to have a wedding celebration and we walked the grounds - not much to walk around but some nice views just the same. Overall, worth checking out for sure, but will return on weekend for...
