DOG OWNERS STAY AWAY! TWO THUMBS DOWN AND NEGATIVE STARS IF IT WERE AN OPTION.
We have enjoyed the Fishers & Noblesville Farmer’s Markets for years. Both have a great offering of vendors and open spaces to enjoy a nice day out supporting your community. Since we now live in Carmel, we wanted to support our local farmers market. On 05/29/2021 we made our way to City Center and parked in the Tarkington Building parking garage. Once parked, we made our way on foot towards the area where the market is staged, however well before we even got close we were approached by an employee/worker for the farmers market who turned us away and said we could not enter because we had our two dogs with us, on leash. MIND BLOWN. Why would you not be allowed to bring your dog with you to an outdoor farmers market? The employee did offer that one of us could stay with the dogs outside the market, while the other went in to shop….. I told her not to worry, and that we would go spend our time & money at the Fishers Market instead. Now, both markets are essentially the same for the most part it seems when it comes to vendors, so it was nice knowing we could go to Fisher’s, with our dogs, and support the local businesses & vendors still. We now know that we will never waste our time even thinking about the Carmel market when we can get most of the same things from Fishers, with more open space, and WITH OUR DOGS, which is the absolute best part of the Fisher’s Farmers Market with all of the friendly dog owners and their pets!
If you are like us, our decisions on where to spend our time are made entirely on places that will also welcome our 4-leg family...
Read moreThe Carmels farmers market is good but it still has some flaws. The vendors there are nice and there are a lot of them leaving room for variety but some of the volunteers are very rude. They have ruined my time at the farmers market due to their rude comments and behavior. I have also seen them being rude to several vendors as well when the market was closing. It is a disappointment knowing that these people are volunteering and they act like they cant handle any small minor...
Read moreLove the Farmers Market!! I have been going for a good ten years and have seen the crowds and booths swelling with time. Especially since Covid. Today’s market is a little less about farm raised produce and more about food and coffee. It gets hot at the market and seating and shade is at a premium. Wear a hat, light cool clothing and bring your shades or the sun may cut your visit short. Earlier you arrive the better for crowds...
