Sadly leaving a bad review as I hate to.
A little before 5 pm when we walked into an empty waiting room and the hostess was sitting on the bench and she got up to get us a table but couldn't seem to figure out where to sit us, but then excused herself to take a phone call which was a to-go order that took nearly 8 minutes for her to take while we were standing there just for her to hang up the phone and ask how she could help us again.
She did see this however and about nearly 8 minutes or so later the server came by to take our drink order which we placed which were bar drinks at the same time we asked for an order of garlic cheese bread. About 10 minutes goes by and are drinks arrived to our table and then within another 5 minutes or server walks up to us after saying our appetizer should be close to coming out that he apologized but they were out of garlic bread and asked if there was something else he could get us. We just ordered our entrees at this point.
Sitting there for a good 15 minutes or more, the server advised that our food should be coming out shortly. About another 5 minutes he comes back to our table and apologizes that they are out of lasagna and asked if there was anything else he could get us.
I just want to make point that this is now around 5:30 p.m. so I'm wondering how an Italian restaurant cannot have garlic bread and could not have lasagna and it's not even technically during a rush or after a rush.
We asked to pay for our drinks and everything else be removed from our bill so that we could go elsewhere. Another five to six minutes went by and the manager on duty came by and asked if there was anything she could get us to replace the lasagna after going to the wrong table, and I again asked for our check for the drinks only so that we could go somewhere else that had food.
A couple of minutes went by and the server brought us our bill which we paid for our drinks and got up to start walking out when the manager walked up with our bill and said that she took care of that and here's our bill which we had to then explain to her that we just paid our server.
I'm sure this may have been a one-time thing but by the looks of several other tables in our area and their experience, I have a feeling this happens more frequently than just this time as several tables were not happy with...
Read moreI highly recommend not ordering for takeout, this is the portions that they gave us, this was for me and my grandmother. This was not enough portion at all, I paid an extra $4.99 for extra chicken and all I got was a little 4 ounce container of chicken. And the extra sauce that I paid for as well was a decent portion that was probably the only decent portion out of the entire meal. The lady in the front was very rude with her attitude. She didn’t even know how to work the app when I asked her to help me. She said she wasn’t sure how the app works and when I asked her if I could have a receipt because I couldn’t get the app to work, and I then had to order in there for to go. She proceeded to make a comment and said we don’t have those here (talking about a Receipt) , and then said to me oh, you look like you had a really upset look on your face when I said that to you. I was just joking with you about not having receipts here. This is very unprofessional and the fact that they cannot get their portions correct for to go order is ridiculous. Whether you order inside or order food inside and eat inside the Restaurant or order to go. You should get the same amount of portions. I highly don’t recommend ordering For carrying out if this is how you’re going to get portioned for your food I paid $28 and some change for this? I would not recommend going here and the Alfredo with the broccoli had a kick to it as well. This is unacceptable, especially considering I have worked in customer service and the food Industry as well for five years. I would never serve any customer the way that this lady served me tonight and I would never serve the portions that were served to me tonight. The portions We’re uncalled for and I’m hoping that a manager or owner will reach out to me regarding this experience. (This is an update, I received an email from the manager and they went ahead and gave me two free meals at the spaghetti factory, and it was an amazing Meal when I dinned in with the spaghetti factory with my two free meals from the manager.) The food was portion correctly, and the staff was very nice in fact because the waiter was so nice. I was able to give him a tip! Thank you for giving me the chance to go back and try your restaurant again and get a...
Read moreI would like to share what I have posted in Indy Local Foodies, a Facebook group dedicated to people who love food in Indianapolis and surrounding areas:
Went to Old Spaghetti Factory in Carmel last night after a symphony Downtown. Had a 8:45 reservation. Got there at 8:30. No one to be found at the hostess stand so we waited and eventually sat down in the waiting area. Not to mention there is only maybe 4 tables in the whole restaurant occupied. Just the trolly booths not even filled up. So we are seated around 845 after I had to find someone we were early though so I didn’t think a thing until everything adding up. We were sat and at first I thought we were forgotten about but after a 15 minute wait we are finally greeted and asked for a drink order which we placed our dinner order at the same time. Another 10 minutes and we finally get our drinks. If the place was packed full I wouldn’t be here complaining I get busy services but the whole entire restaurant was a ghost town. I even had to ask for bread that’s bragged about as a three course meal. So we get our food after about 40 minutes. During this 40 minute wait we were never checked on. Had our glasses empty at the end of the table for well over 20 minutes. So guess what foods wrong and we even mentioned we needed refills. Took the manager 10 minutes to get to our table to ask what’s wrong with still two empty drink glasses.
The big thing is… this very poor quality of service is starting to spread pretty much everywhere and it’s sad. I enjoy a lot of the food central Indiana has to offer but the commitment to service is trash. And at this point I really feel like the frustration of getting a refill at a dead restaurant has really deterred my fiancé and I away from enjoying the food to stay clear from the frustration and cooking in our own home more often than normally. This is not saying “all” service sucks but it’s a big majority for me to be that...
