We're somewhat playground connoisseurs... We travel a ton for business, and our 3 year old has no concept that it's not normal to have favorite playgrounds that are thousands of miles apart. West Commons Playground is not only awesome it's unique. It rates in the top 5 of playgrounds nationwide in my opinion (the kid liked it too.) Things that make it great:
There's tons going on, but it's compact. It's not as expansive as something like Clemyjontry near DC - but it packs a LOT into a very efficient space that encourages more interaction between kids.
There's lots of creative play options built into the design - little cubby holes for hide and seek, club house meetings, whatever. Nice bridges. The structures could be rockets, they could be buildings, etc - but they're nothing creativity-stifflingly specific.
Unique options. I can't quite remember details here - but there were lots of little things that you just don't see at other playgrounds out there. Perhaps because it's newer - so this is just the newest generation of playground equipment offerings, but regardless the end result is that there's some cool stuff here that you won't find elsewhere.
Nice sitting areas for parents. BATHROOMS. Shade for parents, some shade for kids - splashpad for when it's hot and the shade isn't enough.
Overall top-notch playground. Major kudos to whoever...

Read moreThis park is a fantastic place to take a stroll and enjoy the beauty of nature. It features pavilions available for rent, making it an ideal spot for birthday parties or any other gatherings. The playground is impressive, offering a wide variety of unique equipment that caters to both younger and older children. It's great that there are shaded picnic tables, providing a comfortable place to relax while the kids play.
The playground has a soft rubber floor, which means no sand or bark to cause messes or splinters—a thoughtful touch. Right next to the playground is a splash pad, perfect for summer days when kids can easily move between playing on the equipment and cooling off in the water. The park also has clean, easily accessible bathrooms, and a charming little library where you can borrow a book to enjoy while the kids play. Overall, it's a wonderful spot for families to spend...
