We were delighted to see the Bretton Woods Nordic Ski Center and the All New Rosewood Lodge at the Summit completed and open for a lovely Summer Summit Dining experience! We hiked Rosewood several times during COVID and witnessed this new venue going up. On our last hike when the building had finally been completed, we wondered what the finished experience would be like! Well, It is wonderful and nicely upscale! The brand new express Gondola to the Summit was so great for a special family experience since each Gondola accommodates 8 people, and although pricey at 25$ per person, we were very glad to take it up to the Summit for a special Bday lunch! The staff were all very professional and caring. Kevin in particular is a great ambassador for the Omni Brand, with excellent manners and a cheerful disposition! ~Your sojourn there will not disappoint!!
They have hired spot on cooks and waitstaff at the restaurant. There is a good wine offering and pleasant outside dining with the gorgeous views of the iconic Mt Washington Hotel and surrounding valley! The interior dining is also well appointed, with comfortable upholstered dining chairs. We were fortunate to get the outdoor seating for the views! The food was creative and satisfying. We had the delicious grilled Turkey sandwich on amazing pumpernickel/wheat swirl bread perfectly toasted with Russian dressing, we had the chicken tortilla soup, we had the gazpacho, we had the classic burger on a brioche(super delicious) and we had the poutine and gravy (gravy a tad salty, but still flavorful)! Yes, ALL delicious!! And the strawberry shortcake, with a slightly salty homemade biscuit for dessert was perfection!
I surely hope the marketing works to keep this Chef cooking, and waitstaff humming! We noticed large corporate groups enjoying the food and scenery! Keep them coming, as the hum of laughter and clinking glasses made for a happy visit for us all!
~And if you are not needing a full scale meal, The Rosewood at the Summit has you covered with excellent light snacks, pastries, various bottled drinks, and delicious home baked chocolate...
Read moreWe gave it only 3 stars because it's a beautiful place to cross country ski but terrible for snow shoeing. We decided to try out the snow shoes this time to relax from two days of skiing. We actually came back early and even took them off as we got closer to the lodge and walked back. The entire trail shares with the snow bikes, so when there was snow, it was hard packed and very crunchy. Not the nice fluffy snow that makes shoe shoeing so wonderful when you are in the woods. We really did not need snow shoes, could have hiked with our boots. Also there was a section you needed to walk on to get to the woods which was a road, behind the hotel and and massive construction project. Gas smells and noise greeted us as we headed out. I am surprised that the snow shoe trails were limited to this area, and not really the snow shoe experience you would expect from a high class hotel. A waste of rental fee and trail pass money. I would say separate the snow shoes from the biking somehow and route away from the back of the hotel if you are going to bother...
Read moreWent to the alpine because nordic was closed. I can't say I ever want to go back. The greens on the eastern side were so steep, and icey that I walked down! Finally, we found Avalon and that was good- along with the other green nearby. It was more that the prices were so inflated. The lady at the ticket office was extremely rude to us when we said we had trouble obtaining their meager Veteran's discount... in fact she was a total jerk about it and took a tone and talked over me. So it was extremely expensive for a whole lot of attitude and not a lot of skiing.
I would skip this place and go to Loon! High tech lifts, nice people, more diversity in the runs.
No matter how hard Bretton woods tries. It won't be Colorado even though it's as expensive. Sunapee, Loon...so many others were much better examples of New Hampshire's...
