I live down the street from this location. I have vision and back/neck/shoulder issues. I'm actually considered blind. I come in weekly or more often. Each time I go in, I've been able to keep my wheeled bag with me, as it's also used as a mobility aid for me, so I don't fall or run into anything (especially when they leave trash on the floor, large carts blocking aisles, etc). I typically add purchases up as I go, estimate a 10% tax, and I'm usually a little bit higher than my total. It guarantees I have enough money. So today I walk in, and they demand (not ask) that I put my bag behind the counter. There's also no carts available, so I would have nothing to lean on. I explain this to them. They still demand I give them my bag. So I do. I then start attempting to walk thru the store, and found an empty cart. I do my shopping, and my total should have been around 60.00. 62 at the highest. I am told my total, it's 15.00 higher. 77.00. Lady insists she scanned everything right. I get my receipt, start walking back thru the store. Not a single thing matched the price on the floor. Some things were even scanned twice when I bought one. No manager available, and since I already paid, she can't give me any way to fix it. The price thing happens weekly, my total is almost never actually correct, but this is the first time it was so drastically much different. This place takes advantage of the disabled girl who has no other place to buy food at. I live on a fixed income. I have lost the ability to buy my medications two separate months (paying much more for my items than I should be, leaves me no money to pay for my meds) yet, I have no other choice but to go there. And this cashier, Rachel, knows that. She's typically the one to ring up my purchases. Please be careful, check price stickers and compare to receipts, and avoid Rachel being your cashier...
Read moreI love how well organized the Carter Lake store is. And the variety of items available is great. Affordable seasonal decor, craft items such as jewelry kits, beads, acrylic paints and canvas sketchbooks, all your household item needs. Cute clothes and shoes and with BOGO 50% off...I got two really cute shirts for under 20$. And this place has a lot crammed into one small building, but even as they transition from spring to summer seasonal, the place is never a cluttered mess. Not a single shoe was out of place. All of them organized by style and in order of size!...what!? I cant even get that at target. 3 people in line? ...they are calling for a 2nd cashier. Super nice staff. Management seemed very respectful toward their team. I live in Omaha and promise you I will be in Iowa at least once a week to hit...
Read moreThe variety of the merchandise is great, the store is well organized and clean. The check out is a nightmare. There are 2 check outside, but rarely are both of them manned. One day I was 5th in line behind an older woman with a cart heaped full, she was very slow to put her items up on the counter, had coupons, questioned the prices on a few items; the rest of us were getting pretty antsy because the checker wouldn't call for a second checker. There was another employee there, so they weren't understaffed. Two customers in front of me left their carts and walked out the store. Lady in front still unloading her cart, remarking about each item as she put them on the counter. By now there were several other shoppers in line. Someone asked for a second checker; she said he was on break. I left my...
