The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in Carthage, TX is a nice little musical gem found in Northeast Texas. The museum is owned by the family of legendary country artist Tex Ritter , father of actor, John Ritter . The hall of fame is filled with all kinds of memorabilia from Country Music artists from Texas including the Mandrel Sisters, Jennie C Riley , Tex Ritter, Linda Davis, who's from Carthage and so many more! Tommie Ritter Smith and her family are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I definitely recommend going by to check it out. Every year in June they host auditions for the John Ritter Memorial Showcase and so much talent comes out to audition to be in the top 30 at the Showcase on August 8th. I'm proud to say I, myself, made the top 30 and will be featured on the Showcase on Aug 8th this will be my 6th showcase to be in at the Carthage Civic Center. Call the Carthage Chamber of Commerce for tickets to an amazing show but don't just stop with Fridays show....come prepared to enjoy a music filled weekend including the induction of a new addition to the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame on Sat night Aug 9th. While you're in Carthage go visit the "Foot Prints in the Sand" statue you won't believe all that this little town...

She has worked here for a long time and is very knowledgeable.
She provided some history behind the organization and showed us around briefly but then allowed us to finish the tour on our own pace. She also allowed us to take pictures. I could have stayed there much longer and will stop by again when I am in the area.
If you are a country music fan and interested in the people behind the music, this is a great...
Read moreVERY enjoyable. This was our second visit. The lady in the front as you walk in is very nice, helpful and very knowledgeable.

There's plenty of parking. Lots of things to take pictures of. 😀 We're already planning another...
