So I went back and edited my first "average" review to reflect a more recent experience I had here.
I bought an RC car from this location a while back and took it home. I proceeded to charge it up and try it out in my back yard. After less than 1 charge the motor burned up. I took it back to Hangar 18 and they accused me of not reading the manual, saying that there is a "break in" period where you aren't supposed to yadda yadda. Well, I did read the manual and pulled the pdf up on my phone to show them that the manual said no such thing. I was a little pissed at this point, so I told them I was going to return it. "Sorry, we don't accept returns"
wtf? No return policy? You accuse me of not reading the manual and breaking my car, that I spent a lot of money on, and when I show you that you're full of crap you tell me "tough"?
Well, obviously I was rather irritated, and told them where they could stick it. They then came back and said "oh, well uh uh lets call and see if they will do a repair" so they call up the manufacturer, allegedly, and say that the manufacturer is going to pay them to repair my car.
They keep it for a week and I get the car back with a weaker motor. Thanks guys.
From now on, screw this store I'm ordering...

There is a very knowledgeable staff, as well as a core group of patrons, that are always available to help with questions, advice and repairs. There is a large selection of planes, cars, boats and rockets, as well as the parts for all. There is enough space to perform minor repairs yourself, and the staff has been able to help me with everything from putting different connectors on a battery to repairing a cracked fuselage on a plane.
Not only is there a welcoming attitude in the store that encourages people to hang out, but they also host car racing on Sunday morning, flying on Sunday afternoons, and Warhammer tabletop gaming nights for both 40k and fantasy.
Overall, I think it is important to shop locally at places that really do provide something you can't get online, and in this case that something is everything from solid advice to somewhere to hangout for a few hours while the girls are out shopping. My first experience was being talked down to buying a cheaper car that better fit my needs, and advice like that has kept...
