Please, please, please utilize this facility. As a student this was one of my favorite places to visit on campus. The air as you walk in is so refreshing it can change any day into a good one. The staff and students are very knowledgeable about the plants and I love bringing kids here too. There’s so much hands on learning that can be done! Ask about the pinch and sniff geraniums, the water lettuce, the giant lily pads, why the Swiss cheese plants have holes! There’s so much that you can learn here and it’s a wonderful place to feel more connected to the Earth. You don’t have to be a student at the university to visit either, the last time I went admission was based on free will donations.

UNI has a great botanical garden hidden behind the admissions office. There are several greenhouses full of a wide variety of plants as well as exterior gardens. The staff and students are incredibly knowledgeable and informative. They are only open during the week right now but it's definitely worth your time to stop by if you have an...
