I remember when the building was built a couple of years ago and finally opened about a year ago. We were excited to see a store offering many Indian authentic groceries and food so close by. It was fresh and clean. It was nice to shop there. I remember talking with a manager about having a store close to the community and how it was very clean. I said to her let me comeback in a year and see how well you maintain it and that will be the answer to how successful you will be.
Well a year has gone by and I have been visiting and purchasing regularly in the store as well as the fast food section. The verdict is in - this is a successful enterprise. The place has been maintained very clean, albeit some of the customers resorting to spiting pan and other uncleanly behavior inside.
The choice of food items, groceries has been growing. The vegetable are fresh and have good variety. The snacks area has a representation from a variety of regions in India. This is hopefully satisfying most of the tastes of the community. The fast food section is limited; it could benefit from some more diversity of foods from other regions. That also goes for the sweets section. I am sure the limitation is the chef who may or may not have the skills to make food from many regions.
The success of the organization starts from the top. The manager I have talked to, her name is Pallavi has exhibited good skill set to manage the store. She is always available to answer questions and is very receptive. She also has good business acumen. One time there were three people at the checkout line. Only one lane was open, she immediately saw it and opened an additional checkout line and within minutes was able to take care of the people. One of the key to succeed in business is to be customer-centric. Pallavi seems to exhibit these traits. She is also diligent about keeping this place clean and well organized.
I hope this business continues to do well and caters to a variety of people from all regions of the subcontinent. My...
Read moreDON'T RECOMMEND this store newly opened in Cedar Park. Why? During our first visit, we purchased a couple of items including Dal(pulses). Next day we wanted to return Moong Dal packet unopened as we no longer needed and it was unopened too. We also mentioned that we would instead want to buy Ghee(clarified butter) in exchange of this item(Moong Dal packet). Unfortunately we did not have the receipt and the store representative refused blatantly to accept and even said that everyone is busy now and no one including managers is available to talk to us regarding our purchase saying you might have bought this somewhere else and returning in this store. Also, we saw not many people inside and pretty much less people compared to other Indian Grocery stores we visit like Manpasand or DB World foods. We had returned items to Manpasand and other stores in exchange for other items we bought so very much surprised and saddened by this kind of hospitality by the store representative.
I hope that you at least listen to your customers despite not having receipt. It should be fine as the same store representative was there and she recognized immediately once we entered the store. Regret the incident today happened to us.
They just ask you to leave a good review on Google but with such experiences you should not expect...
Read moreSince moving to Austin, I always struggled with finding a good Indian grocery store nearby, as most were a 30-40 minute drive away. So, when I heard about Big Bazar opening in Cedar Park, I was thrilled! Now, I go there almost every day to pick up fresh veggies and other kitchen essentials. The store is very organized and convenient.
The best part of Big Bazar is the staff. Ruchi Verma was the first person I met when I visited, and her excellent customer service made me feel like I was back in India. Her warm greetings and helpfulness are truly exceptional. She always goes above and beyond to ensure customers have a great shopping experience, making every visit a pleasure.
On the restaurant side, as a parent of two kids, cooking every day can be challenging. Big Bazar’s variety of curries is a lifesaver for quick and delicious meals. Ajeet Singh, the restaurant expert, is incredibly hardworking and passionate about food. You must try the magic of his hands – his dishes are a testament to his dedication and love...
