Planet Fitness — Attraction in Centreville

Been going to this gym for about 18 months now. It’s a great value for money if you’re simply looking to get the exercise in. You won’t find that much free weight equipment except for dumbbells, but they have several smith machine cages and a leg press. I wish they had a few more benches as the cages are usually taken during rush hours. Equipment gets repaired fairly quickly and the facilities are always clean. I really can’t complain about anything for $10/mo.

Update 6/7/22. Lowering my rating to 4 stars as this gym has lately become very busy. Be ready to wait in queues for rack machines, even if you come during lunch time, for example. Lots of kids come here in groups and are a bit loud and obnoxious. PF is definitely a newbie’s gym and most people you see there are new and constantly changing.

Update 1/18/23: Lowering to 3 stars. The gym is noticeably going down in quality. I don’t know if it’s post-COVID surge and a lack of staff but 3/4 stair climbers have been sitting broken for weeks now. Also, showers are dirty and it’s gotten even busier during the 4-7PM window. At least they haven’t increased their pricing (yet).

Update 6/24/24: This gym is barely worth 2 stars as the men’s showers have lost their soap dispensers and usually only about 1 stall is usable if you don’t count the handicap stall. Out of 3 regular stalls one has almost 0 water pressure and the other has only hot water. Too bad it’s so close to my home and almost no other option exists other than exorbitantly priced Lifetime Fitness, otherwise I’d switch immediately.

Update 7/13: The last normal working shower now is also broken. The shower curtains are absolutely disgusting (see pic). However, this PF invested thousands into upgrading the machines. How about upgrading...

I highly recommend this location to due the friendly staff, variety of equipment and amenities, and included programs.

The process of signing up was very easy. I toured the facility with Elliot, a manager. He patiently answered my questions and introduced the equipment, amenities, and programs in an inviting manner. Gyms, in general, can be intimidating to beginners so I appreciated his friendliness. After touring, I went home and completed my registration through the app.

The gym has a range of equipment in addition to two speciality areas, which I’m excited to explore further: a 360 strength training room and a 30 minute cardio circuit room. The equipment is clean, updated, and all machines have QR codes that point you to video directions.

Today, I signed up for the 30 minute New Member Orientation and was guided through all of the equipment by a team member, Chris. He was friendly, personable, and explained the equipment simply. He even walked me through how to adjust each machine for my size and weight preferences, while pointing out how to use them. After the orientation, I felt a lot less intimidated by the unfamiliar equipment.

After my orientation and workout, I took advantage of the hydromassage lounge chair for a 10-minute relaxing cooldown. I’m excited to also try out the tanning bed, massage chairs, and total body enhancement system.

Tomorrow, I signed up for a Design Your Own Program session with a trainer to discuss my goals and chat about the best workout to suit my needs. I’m pleasantly surprised that this, the orientation, and a variety of other classes are offered for free and you can sign up for anything through the app.

Me and my wife we go there every day one day she was stuck in traffic and I was there before her the desk agent a dark gentleman with spectacle told me you got to leave I asked him why and told him that my wife will be here shortly I he told me to leave with lots of rudness I asked him questions about how do I approach this situation next time he is like you got to leave we pay them every month for this.

Now I asked him can I change the membership under my name he is like you have to go to the place where you signed up let me tell you I did it online. He did not let me speak a word I told him Ok then can I cancel this He is like go where you signed in again I did it online.

I said is there any number you can help me he is like you got to leave or you will be escorted outside ( threatening given) just because I asked him how to call someone

Then I told him what wrong did I asked he said you got to leave or I am calling police. Just for asking him to edit the membership.

Then he told me to that do not come to any planet fitness in future ( again threatening)

So if I go there to cancel he can do whatever he can.

To every one of you have a good fighting skills please be there or be ready to get threatened
