My husband and I stayed here for two nights in early August while he and I were visiting my family and friends in Virginia. Him and I live in Alabama, and had yet to take the trip for him to meet my best friends and rest of the family. The hotel reservation was booked under my maiden name, Paris, as I was still in the process of changing my name. The experience was horrible, and by far the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel.
Upon arriving, we had to wait to be greeted by a middle-aged African American woman with one airpod in her ear. When we arrived at our room, the room REEKED of marijuana. Knowing we could be charged for the smell, I went down to the front desk to inquire about this. A can of lemon air freshener was placed in front of me with no other correspondence, unless you consider an eye-roll appropriate communication. I was not offered to have our room changed, nor was anyone sent to my room to help aide with the smell. My husband and I tried to make the most of the night after using about half the bottle to get rid of the smell.
On our second night, we were fortunate enough to have two adult African American males located in the room next to us who drank, smoked, yelled, blasted music, and partied the night away into the morning. My husband was kind enough to call the front desk multiple time to have a woman who barely spoke English to converse with. He even went down a number of times to the front desk, with the person from the front desk coming up with him to our room to state that they didn't "hear anything." Meanwhile, the noise is so loud I could hear it from the stairway two levels below ours (we were on the fourth floor), in front of our door and their door, and the wall shared between our room and theirs was shaking throughout the night into the morning.
My husband was fortunate enough to get sleep; I on the other hand, did not. The next morning, we were scheduled to drive 12 hours back to our home state. I was livid and was going to demand a refund at the front desk in the morning, but my husband told me to let the matter go.
However, upon returning home, I called the corporate number a number of times to request a refund for the two day visit. Every time I call, I am told to expect a call from a supervisor in the next 24-48 hours. This call never comes. When this call did come once, I called right back as I had missed it, and no call was ever returned to me.
Staying at this hotel was by far the worst experience I have had at a hotel. I grew up in Centerville and was shocked by the low standards the hotel is based on. A complete waste of almost three hundred dollars on a rather already expensive trip. My husband and I will never stay here again. I beg of anyone who is researching hotels right now, to spend the extra dollar someone else, and do anything else...
Read moreDo not stay at this hotel! They have bed bugs here and it is a consistently on going problem that the hotel management does nothing about. I have stayed here multiple times and each time it has been an issue other guests and myself have had.the first time I stayed I was in the laundry room and another guests was washing everything he had and told me how he had been there over a week and he now had been bugs.
The very next day I found them in my bed and management offered me a free night in a different room on a different floor. They claimed they would call a pest control company but never did. I had the same issue in this new room too and told them I wanted a refund for all the money I had spent staying there and then they acted as if there was no problem and refused to do anything. Unfortunately I ended up having to stay here again months later. While I was there I witnessed management going in rooms that other guests had complained about and taking all the linens and bedding out in large plastic bags which clearly shows that they knew they have an infestation. Again, within a few days off my stay there I too had an issue again and had a rash all over my body from bites and had to remove all of my belongings, wash in hot water, put in plastic bags in a storage unit to try and kill the pests.
I went and talked with management and again they claimed there was no issue, that they had a pest control company come when they absolutely had not and refused to do anything to make it right. I asked them to see proof that a pest control company had came such as an invoice or anything at all and the manager I spoke with claimed they wouldn't have that there, that it was corporate that had it. This was clearly another lie and abpoor one at that.
I was diagnosed with Scabies after staying at the hotel. Scabies is easily passed through contact with furniture, bedding, linens, even carpet and so on. When I returned to the hotel to let management know this they again took no action to fix the issue in any way. This hotel is a breeding ground for scabies and bed bugs and it will continue to be spread among guests staying there until they shut down the hotel and take the proper time and action to properly eradicate the infestations there. Money is clearly more important to them than the health of the public staying in this hotel.
Below are pictures of the medications I had to get to try and get rid of the scabies infestation in my body. A simple Google search will show you that these medications are for scabies treatment. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO HAVE THE SAME HEALTH AND LIFE...
Read moreOnly a couple problems. We stayed here for quite a long time. During that time the locks were cut off our travel trailor (the manager did not care), the window was busted out of the back of our truck, the air conditioner would freeze (we went two days with no ac and it was very hot we barely got any sleep, the maitenance man told my husband he did not give a damn, when we called the company it was finally taken care of two days later when the guy replaced the unit), the trash rooms go for a long time being sticky and messy, the manager Nick is a very arrogant and unsympathetic. Seems like a lot of bad but there is a lot of good. The break-ins only happened during one month while we were there for 11 months, there was a group hitting all the hotels in the area and this is not uncommon for even the best hotels. I never once experienced roaches, bed bugs, or ticks. However in the summer month of july there were some sugar ants just like everyone gets in a home during that time. Exterminators were there within the week and ants were gone. Laundry room was nice and they almost always had quarters available. There are a lot of regulars at this hotel who are very friendly and majority of the staff are as well. The whole time I hardly ever heard anyone above, below, or next to us, the building was built very well for soundproofing. We like our privacy and other than a few times the maitenance man banged on our door when he knew we were asleep (we are night time people) we were pretty much left alone. I do not like maids coming in my room and greatly apreciated them leaving our room alone but giving us towels and such when I needed them. Now they tell you if you stay for a while you are supposed to get your own toilet paper but in my opinion if we are paying per night then they can give up the tp! The maids will give you two if you ask but Nick will only give one and a dirty look. If you every deal with Kim she is a dream :) She was always nice, gave us directions to places, and did her best to get me anything I needed. As for the building, yes it is old but still in good shape. They are fixing to remodel in March I believe. I got use to being here and even cried while we drove away, it was home for almost a year. There is a lot of shopping and resturaunts close too. I recommend Young Chow cafe for chinese and Ciros...
