Read moreGreat service and excellent food. I have never had a bad experience here. The staff is super friendly, efficient, and informative. One of my favorite places to dine.
Update 5/18/23: Still a great place to eat! The service was especially amazing today. The food and ozzy rolls were excellent also!
The Happy trails beer is out!!! Also a fan favorite!
Update 7/13/24: The food is still the awesome, but something seems to have shifted in the service. Mainly the hostesses and seaters. Last visit which was 2 weeks earlier had reservations at 6 and was there AT 5:55. Checked in with the front staff and they confirmed, also they said they would text us when it became available. We wait up front right next to the staff, but out of the way. Throughout the course of waiting the staff was very polite and kept saying it should be a few min. 40 min later I finally asked how much longer. To which the staff confirmed our reservation and acted like we had just checked in. When we said we have been waiting for the last 40 min for our reservations they seemed very bothered by us then tried to say they texted us. Everyone in the party was on their phones and did not see a text from them nor receive anything. When we told the staff this they acted like we weren't telling them the truth and they checked their computer, they saw that they were in the wrong and just dismissed it altogether. 2 min later we were finally sat.
The next visit 7/13/24, not as egregious as a wait for reservations but still a wait. What is the point of these reservations if we still have to wait 15-20 minutes? Maybe they need to adjust their sitting times to reflect a more current time in which people occupy a table, I don't know.
You can also tell the portions are becoming a little smaller and the prices are a little higher. Definitely a product of shrinkflation.
As I said before, the food is still great but I don't know if this is a new thing now but had to ask for every condiment that normally comes with our meals. The service was very friendly but had to wait 20 min for them to take the check.
This place is my favorite place to eat and I can say yeah one time is "hey they might be having a bad night" but now it's starting to...
Read moreIt had been over 6 years since I visited the Sweetwater Tavern in Centreville. Back then, the food was OK, but nothing amazing. But my wife and I wanted to take her brother out for a nice lunch in the Centreville area, so we decided to go there. We figured that there would be a good selection of food to cover our tastes. Unfortunately, we were wrong.
When I first sat down to peruse the menu, I was surprised to see that there were no vegetarian options. Every main dish was meat-based, whether that was chicken, beef, pork, or seafood. No section for vegetarian main dishes, and not a single option anywhere except for salads. Even most of the salads had a "protein" meat item added. Sure, you can exclude the meat from your salad, but it seems like virtually no effort was put into offering food options for non-meat eaters.
I asked our waitress about alternatives to the meat entrees, and she had almost nothing to offer. She said they could make a simple pasta dish with broccoli and corn, but it sounded like a very half-baked answer. I was honestly kind of dumbfounded that, in this current time, a restaurant could make so little effort to appeal to vegetarian or vegan people.
After looking over the entire menu, I ended getting an order of French fries for lunch. Yes, this was one of the only menu items that doesn't include meat. I attached a picture of my "lunch", which was really a very poor option for a meal. The fries weren't bad, which is a good thing I guess. I did eat some bread with it (and they charge for a few pieces of bread lol), so I guess that counts for something?
Bottom line: if you are vegetarian, vegan, or just don't feel like stuffing yourself with meat, don't bother with Sweetwater Tavern. They put zero effort into accommodating non-meat menu items, and clearly just don't care about that part of their potential...
