If I could give this place negative stars I would. Two days ago we made the heart-wrenching decision to put down our beloved Blue. Since it was Sunday, the only facility that was open was an Emergency Vet. During the signing of the paperwork after our decision was made, the vet conveniently slipped in for an authorization for cremation from this place. We were told, as we were leaving in tears, that someone would be contacting us the next day regarding arrangements, and we were. After we were told the outrageous pricing to basically get our beloved pet back in a plastic bag, and then made to feel like if we didnt pay all this extra money then we really didnt care about our pet, we told them we were not using them. We contacted another facility, who set up transport to get our dog. Either this facility does not communicate with their drivers or this is their MO, but they went to the facility and took my dog. When the facility that we choose called us and we called DCP, they reassured us that their driver would turn around. After 45 mins of waiting we called and spoke with another person at DCP who told that our dog was taken to their facility. She flat out LIED to us. The driver would not take the dog back to the vets office and we were lucky they didnt charge us a $35 fee for transport is what we were told. This place is the worst possible place I have ever encountered. They also blamed the vets office, bc and I quote "vet techs arent the smartest of people". The owner's daughter, who wanted to explain more to me about her father's legacy then the pain and anguish we were going through thinking that a place that did not have authorization to have our animal was driving him around all over creation, is the worst of the worst. Our loving family member was diminished down to a monetary value. They must have some partnership with the vets bc their release was the only one given to us, when we know at least three other companies deal with that particular vet. We also know from other sources that this place NEVER does private cremations that all are communal. This place profits off of grief in the worst way possible. Do not send your beloved family...
Read moreOnce I discovered this place it has been the only place that my animals have gone, I have even referred many friends here. They were with me when my beloved Brandi passed and even made me a new certificate of cremation once they found out the wrong owner's name was on there. This was done in error because the vet gave them my sister's name.
Lori at the Douglasville funeral home has handled all my ferrets and she's super sweet. Even going as far as to make sure my ferret's nose prints were good enough for jewelry before sending them off or staying a little late while I make my way there. The people who handled Sage's cremation even took paw prints just in case I didn't like Sage's nose print. The care of them knowing that I wanted a memorial of my beloved ferret and giving me other options when they felt the nose print didn't meet their expectations. I'm not sure why people are complaining about a tin for an urn when I always got mine back in a wooden box as standard or whatever urn I requested. Not too long ago, I went with a friend to pick up her ferret that had passed in Chamblee. I took my Brandi with me because I noticed her ashes were leaking out. They promptly replaced the bag and allowed me to get her a bigger urn. They still care even when your pet is nothing but ashes, 6 years later and they still handled Brandi with care and love.
Deceased Pet Care and the Shugart Family have been with me through all of my major losses. Brandi my childhood dog, Arioch my first ferret, and now Sage my second ferret. I pray I don't have to see them again any time soon but I know when the time comes they'll be there for me. Thank you for all the love, support, and care you guys put into your business. I can't imagine going anywhere else for my pet's...
Read moreAmazing experience with Deceased Pet Care. We had to euthanize our beloved Pearl at our home (also had a great vet from Paws to Wings perform an in-home euthanasia for us), and were directed to use Deceased Pet Care to take care of our cremation needs. My husband and I were very impressed with their kindness, patience, and efficiency. We were never left wondering where our sweet Pearl was. We were informed about everything that was happening with him and we were given in-depth directions about the process of his cremation. I spent an hour on the phone with one employee, Lenee, who was so caring and patient with me as I picked out what memorial items I wanted. When I chose jewelry, she helped me pick out the perfect engravings for the pendants and never once showed any sign of impatience or annoyance at how long it was taking me. She was happy to help me and keep me calm while I was very heartbroken and trying to make decisions. When I realized I wanted to include a blanket with Pearl for him to be cremated with, she said no problem at all and took care of getting me to drop the blanket off at the right place and she took care of getting it to Pearl and making sure he wouldn’t be cremated without it. She also assured me that they had ash tracking so that I would absolutely end up with Pearl and not another pet. When I went to pick up Pearl’s ashes, there was a kind man who presented Pearl to us and took care of us while we were there. We were never rushed or ignored. Excellent place (except for the death circumstances leading you to need them) to use. They really know what they’re doing and how to keep you comfortable during such a...
