March 2025 Update. -Half the employees on their phone not paying attention. The cook and one of the line workers. No hand-washing....
October 2023 Update:
Much better.
First Time (2022). 1 Star
I walked into the restaurant, and no one greeted me even though there was no one else in line. They just stared at me. Person A eventually said "hello" and asked me what I wanted. Person A never changed her gloves even though she actively used her gloved fingers to scratch her head and place her hands directly on the food she was making (I do not want to eat someone's dandruff). I told Person A that she was scratching her head and touching my food without washing her hands or changing gloves. She asked me "do you want someone else to make it?". I replied with "no, that's nasty, I'm good now, I don't want anything". I left.
During this time Person B was talking on her cell phone, holding it with 1 hand, and making a pita with her other hand. Person B then sat her phone down on the same surface the pitas are placed while continuing to make the pita. Person B never washed her hands or changed her gloves.
Once I left, I called the restaurant and spoke with a manager. The manager was professional, apologetic, and attempted to 'comp' the next meal whenever I came back. The manager claims she will speak with Person A. I did not tell her about Person B, so please speak with Person B too (she was the other young lady up front with Person A).
TLDR: Rude, disinterested and unhygienic employees....
Read moreThis is the worst cava I have been to. The service is really trash and servers are very disrespectful. Especially that one lady! I don’t know if she a manager or the head of servers but she is so freaking disrespectful and rude !! Any other employees are cool ! Especially the guys. But that one lady is the worst. I usually get my usual bowl on north Druid hills for $15-$17 !! The one in chamblee is always almost $30 !! They overcharge too much. She has a smart mouth and she is also disrespectful to her coworkers by cutting them off rudely when they talking!! She rudely told me that they don’t take $100 notes!! She wasn’t even the one serving me but she always gotta say some !! My actual server was trying to work with me and find a solution. But that lady cut her off and said NO!! If you don’t like your job just say that !!! Just quit !! Don’t be giving people attitude for no reason !! Why is it so hard to be nice to paying customers ??? Is it too much to ask ??? I myself work in the hospitality business and I’ve never ever seen that before!! Get another job !! CAVA PLEASE FIRE THIS BITTER LADY !! On a side note, The food is really good and I go there almost every day! But service is trash! Cava do better !...
Read moreI'm insane and have been waiting for this location by my house to open. I've tweeted them and dm'd them and finally it happened! Finally went and took my husband. He got the lamb pita and it was great. I made my own bowl, everything was delicious as usual.
It's definitely new, and you can tell with the service. It wasn't bad by any means, but little things like not getting you the pita that comes with your bowl, and mixing up super vs. splendid greens. No biggies, I'm sure they'll iron everything out!
The only thing that bugged me is that I asked for pickles and the employee accidentally put pickled onions on the bowl. I told her, and she went to throw the whole bowl out. I think she was told by the manager, but not sure. I asked her not to and that I'd just pick them off. I don't fault them, but I don't like that, especially at a place like Cava where "Food is a force for good." The level of nonchalantness toward food waste while partnering with organizations to reduce food insecurity is a turn-off. ESG initiatives are only great if you can walk the talk. It could be a great training...
