Great gym! So glad I found their groupon!
I go to the evening boxing classes and have been to classes run by both coaches (Eric and Elgin). Both coaches offer a great workout with insightful technical guidance. Having previous boxing experience is NOT necessary as they will work with your level and pair you with people either on the same level or with enough experience to help guide you through the different drills.
I haven't taken the other classes, but I have worked out at other MMA gyms and have taken classes at other gyms. From what I've seen the nightly cardio kickboxing class is KILLER. It looks less technical (than if you took Muay Thai, which they also offer) but the workout is no joke. The coaches are very creative and I'm regularly impressed with what I see.
They also offer BJJ, Muay Thai (as mentioned above), Crossfit, and children's classes.
I love that the gym is always very clean and really well organized. They continue to look for ways to improve the gym and have done so by adding cubbies, very, very large ceiling fans, sectioning walls, etc.
The staff and every gym goer I've met have been friendly and helpful.
They have locker rooms with showers, stall, and lockers (obvs). There are ample lockers, but I find them kind of small. I have to really shove my under armor gym bag into the locker to get it to fit.
Otherwise, the only other thing I don't love is that there is no Saturday boxing class. It would work really well for my schedule if there were one.
Anyhow, I highly recommend coming here and trying it out. Check groupon for a deal so you can try it before you commit, but I guarantee if you commit you'll be very happy...

I’ve been a member here for a while now, and I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve literally raved about it to everyone I know, and I’m so grateful for the positive impact it’s had on my life.
Speaking of which, I recently lost around 30 pounds, and it’s been an incredible journey. I lost about 5 pounds of muscle in the process, but I’m thrilled to say that I completed an entire body recomposition in just 3-4 months. I feel so much better and my patella tendinitis is completely gone!
I want to personally thank each of you amazing coaches for your guidance and support. Jordan (Boxing), Eugene (Strength and Conditioning), Charles (Kickboxing), Huong (Crossfit), Richard (Kickboxing) and Adam (Crossfit), you’ve all been incredible. Each of you brings something unique to your craft, and you all excel at what you do.
Teaching a group fitness class and still making each member feel like they’re getting a personalized experience is no easy feat, but you all do it with such grace and kindness. You’re all friendly, knowledgeable, energetic, and incredibly selfless in getting to know us as people rather than just members. Those connections mean the world to me.

Read moreI initially stumbled upon Team Octopus by way of a month-long Groupon offer. I signed my friend and I up and thought "What the heck, it'll keep me in shape until I can get back to the climbing gym." What I didn't expect was how at-home I felt almost immediately. Team Octopus makes it a point to make everyone feel like family; those were Rudy's words to me on my first day, and I've never once doubted their sincerity.
Koon and Diego really know their stuff and are willing to help in whatever way they can. Although I was initially intimidated and worried about being a complete beginner to the sport of grappling, I didn't need to. Koon and Ray helped me get up to speed very quickly with the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 101 classes and were always willing to help outside of class. And especially as a girl, BJJ is awesome for self-defense, so I would highly recommend!
As for kickboxing, Mark is phenomenal. I've never taken a kickboxing class, but now I can't wait for each class to start! The class is high-intensity, even during the warm-ups, and it's an awesome work-out that will never leave you bored. From squat-jumps to mountain climbers to fun combination kicks and punches, Mark always has something up his sleeve to keep you on your toes. When in doubt, don't be afraid to ask questions, of Mark or anyone else in the class.
I would highly recommend Team Octopus to anyone who's even the least bit curious about MMA. I came in with zero experience (practicing or watching), but now I even look up UFC fights to learn more. You couldn't ask for a more friendly, knowledgeable, and all-around great group of trainers...
