We’re fortunate to have North DeKalb Stadium as a venue for our students to play football, run track, and participate in other athletic events. It’s a valuable resource for our district, and it gives kids the chance to compete and build school spirit close to home.
That said, it’s clear the stadium hasn’t received the same level of care or upgrades as some of the other DeKalb County facilities. Walking through, you can see areas that need serious attention — rotting wooden stairs, cracked bleacher steps that pose safety concerns, and restrooms that are in poor condition.
The concessions area is serviceable, and the volunteers who run it do their best with what they have, but the facilities themselves could be greatly improved.
