You get this low score because the management system of both you and gym are just too too terrible! And also, in case someone who refuse to take any responsibility from CRCE to use their special ways or power to remove the voice posted on CRCE. Also as a reminder to anyone want to try CRCE afterwards. As paying students, we have every right to use the gym facilities included in our tuition. However, the management here has shown a shocking lack of professionalism: No Proper Notification If the facility is reserved for an event, students should be clearly notified in advance—through emails, official announcements, or at the very least visible signs posted at the entrance. Instead, there was absolutely no notice. Students were allowed to enter, start using the gym, and only then were told they “shouldn’t be here.” Event Not Even Using the Gym The so-called reserved event was not even actively using the gym space. Yet they still abused their rental privilege to drive away enrolled students, which is unreasonable and unfair. Disregard for Student Health Forcing students to leave after they had already entered and begun exercising shows complete disregard for student health and safety. Especially in colder weather, this could put students at risk of catching a cold or worse. Unacceptable Excuse – Website Update When asked for an explanation, the only answer given was that “the schedule was updated on the website.” Realistically, no student checks the gym’s website every single day. A tiny notice buried online cannot be considered adequate communication when it directly impacts students who already paid for access. Rude Attitude and Lack of Accountability The individual who told us to leave spoke in a rude and dismissive manner. It was not even clear if this person was an actual staff member or simply part of the outside event. If they were staff, their behavior was completely unacceptable and should be grounds for disciplinary action. If they were part of the external event, then the gym’s management failed in allowing a non-university person to drive away tuition-paying students.
In summary, this gym is poorly managed, unprofessional, and shows no respect for the students who actually fund it. Until they establish proper communication, enforce clear accountability, and prioritize the well-being of students, they do not deserve to be trusted as a...
Read moreI love the facilities, but some of the student employees are terrible. I forgot my phone in the changing room, and from home I called the front desk and asked them if they could pick it up. They told me that they cannot. I drove back and picked my phone up from the changing room. At the front desk I counted 7 student employees, who were chatting with each other, as they did not have anything else to do, still they were not willing to help. I do not find...
Read moreThe rec center is great. Staff are helpful. But WHY do cars with handicap placards/plates have to PAY to park? There is a huge parking lot there and ONLY the handicap have to pay to park. And it's all by an app! No cash accepted. As a visitor, I should not have to pay to park and shouldn't have to download another app that has access to my financial info. U of I needs to do better because this is discrimination and a potential...
