My son and I went to the water park. It's definitely a fun atmosphere. You have to go in early as soon as they open in order to get a shaded spot. They have young children friendly attractions. The pool doesn't go much deeper than 6ft. And this is over by the area where lap swimming is. Otherwise it's 5ft. The pool starts off with a beach like entry without the sand. Then there's the lazy river, could be longer, but it's still fun. There's also two slides that land into a small pool. It was interesting that they asked everyone to get out of the pool for a practice drill for their lift guards. Not sure if they do this everyday, or if it was just that visit. Kept having random people popping up and just making themselves comfortable within the pavilion that was paid for through the Champaign Park district. Had to argue 3 times for people to leave the pavilion due to the party. Finally, I had to call the police to escort a very aggressive group out. 1 person in this group even hinted that he had a gun and had no intention to fight when asked to leave.
