Talbots — Local services in Champaign

My experience has been awful at this particular store in Champaign, IL… I made a complaint about a very unfriendly employee… they would save the free gifts for their favorite customers, not give them out first come first serve when you met the criteria for the gift… since then this particular employee never speaks…. Never asks if I need help… never a simple hello or thank you for coming in… I returned a pair of pants on 4/21/23 that I ordered online on 4/2/23…the manager had the nerve to tell me that they do not carry those anymore not for 2 to 3 years… she even told me that she tried to order them and they no longer carry them… I explained that I ordered them a week or so ago… also informed her that my mother ordered two pair after I did, one in black and one in white…she did not believe it, had a terrible attitude… I tried pulling up my order confirmation and delivery but the internet was being slow… she said she did not see them on my account when she looked… I asked her to look them up off of the tag… she then found them on my account and then did the return…. I then asked her what date it said I purchased them and she said she did not know… I asked her to go back and look and she did, she said you purchased them April 2, 2023… they were delivered to me April 10th, 2023… I was returning on April 21, 2023… she never apologized, never said yes, you are right:.. I was very humiliated and insulted… the customer next to me probably really thought I was trying to return something I purchased 2 to 3 years ago based on the managers statement that she tried purchasing them and they have not carried them for 2 to 3 years… after I got in my car, I looked them up on the web site and yes, they are still available… I will NEVER shop in the Champaign, IL Talbots store again… the worse experience with the main employee and manager in a time frame of 2 years… I never felt welcome in the store over the years…I believe they do not care for African Americans… I watch them be so kind and friendly to other shoppers… I have not had this experience in the other Talbots stores that I shop… I’m done shopping in this store… my money is just as good as the next persons and no matter the color of your skin, everyone’s money...
