Took my family to celebrate my son's birthday and attempted the pawn shop room. The lobby is clean as are the rooms that I saw. We received a rules video as well as a quick reading of the plot for the room before being sent on our way to start the puzzles. This is where things get interesting. Many of the drawers and locks in the room were already unlocked which caused us to be much further ahead right at the start than anticipated. The employee who greeted us and walked us into the room quickly ran back in and apologized for failing to set the room up properly and hurriedly locked many of the drawers that we had just pulled clues from. So now we found ourselves starting from the beginning a bit confused. As we progressed through the room and unlocked several of the puzzles my kids and I begin to get stuck and upon asking for clues we were presented with clues for parts of the puzzle that we had already solved. This happens two or three times and caused us to burn additional time thinking that we had missed something critical when in fact it was a poorly timed hint. At one point the employee providing clues had to ask us what we were stuck on. I feel like all of the misses created a mixed experience that was supposed to be fun and exciting for my son's birthday which instead ended in frustration and confusion. When we were done we wanted to buy my son a t-shirt to remember the experience by but we had to wait around standing in the lobby for at least 5 minutes to be able to pay someone for the shirt. I know the reviews are typically outstanding for this location but these misses caused me to think twice...
Read moreThis review is mainly for our party experience because only my kids crew went in so I don’t know how easy or fun the escape rooms are. But for my daughter’s 10 th birthday party. It’s absolutely a blast. I started planning a month ago and was able to reserve the room that early. When the owner Kate knew that I need two rooms for my large crew and celebrate after out, she block the whole game periods and made it exclusive for my party. The website is not hard. I chose the most easy two rooms. The 10 year old couldn’t totally solve all the puzzles but my daughter told me she had lots of fun. They do require one adult 16 or older to get in with the kids. They have a small conference room for about 8-12 people. The staffs are very nice to arrive 30mins+ early so that I can set up some deco and bring in food. They clean the room pretty well before 12pm and they made it clear to the kids about the rule. They waited a few minutes for some later guests to start all at one time. You don’t lose minutes if you can’t start on time. I paid for extra 30 minutes for using the conference room just to sit down and do cake and photos. otherwise the next group needs to get in. But I actually couldn’t finish till 45 minutes later and they didn’t rush me out. This place is easy to park on weekend. I pulled up my car to the front and unload all stuff easily with my friends help. Neviya the girl is pretty courteous to write down my daughter’s name on the board just to make her special. She told me we can get an extra escape clue just for birthday...
Read moreI am writing this to inform anyone who is thinking of playing Kate’s motel. My first word of advise is I would strongly suggest not to play this room. Firstly, this game has no warning on the website of anything scary at all, other than saying due to the context of the situation and difficulty 14+ only, which makes you think that’s because of the difficulty. Also considering their cabin room says creepy right on it I thought this was just going to be another corny murder mystery. However this is the complete opposite. It is the most paranormal, hyper realistic, and jump scare room I’ve ever played. so if anyone in your party has any fears of this sort of stuff I suggest not playing as me and my group had to walk out with 18 minutes to spare due to the unwarned notices of things such as this. I think that the owners of escape chandler need to put trigger warnings and more context on their website so this doesn’t happen to someone else as well. secondly, the rooms puzzles were illogically coming from someone who has played 50+ escape rooms. third, the room was unconnected from the rest of the facility which made it seem like anyone could walk into the room at anytime…. lastly, the game master was super unprofessional by when we expressed our concerns basically brushed them aside and said look further… until we said we were going to walk out of which she greeted us laughing about our fears. Overall would not suggest! Oh and to put a cherry on top the room already had a door open that wasn’t...
