Decent park I’m sure the aquatic pool is the real attraction! A hidden park perfect for dogs owners!
Tucked away near a few business districts and right off Kyrene, Nozomi Park is a bit of a hidden spot.
The park has a small picnic area with a table and grill right near the playground, a volleyball court, and a big open field that looks perfect for baseball or other activities.
One of the standout features is the huge dog parkone of the biggest I’ve seen. It’s fully fenced, with tables inside, and has more than enough space for pets to run around freely. This place is perfect for pet owners who want to take their pets on a walk, with plenty of open space to enjoy. Interestingly, the parking spots directly in front of the playground (about seven of them) are reserved for dogs, which seems like a funny design choice. That said, there is plenty of parking overall, even if the main lot is a short distance from the park.
The playground itself is shaded and has three slides, four climbing structures, six sets of swings, and even a little tractor toy. The ground is covered in mulch and gravel. Unfortunately, the equipment has quite a bit of bird droppings, and it doesn’t look like it’s been power washed or deep cleaned in a long time. A good cleaning would make a big difference here.
The Aquatic Center, which has a pool, water slide, splash area, and lap pool, looks nice from the outside, but we haven’t checked it out yet. Once we do, we’ll be sure to update this review.
Every time we’ve been, it’s been quiet with very few people around, which makes it feel like a peaceful neighborhood spot. Overall, I’d give it 4 stars mainly docking a point for the unkept playground, bird droppings, and the odd parking arrangement, but the space, amenities, and dog park definitely make it worth a visit.
Note to Phoenix Parks and Rec: If you happen to see this, it would be great to have someone come out and pressure wash the playground equipment. Even just a one time deep cleaning would make a huge difference for families using the...
Read moreI have a almost 3 year old who really loves this pool. It's not over crowded like some of the other pools probably because it's smaller, there's no wave pool, there's one tube slide, 3 diving boards and a lap pool. What my son really likes is the play structure, the water isn't very deep and he just learned how to swim so he can swim around the whole thing and it's the right height for him. He liked going down the slide and swimming back to the steps, he could do that all day. It's a little more run down than some of the other pools and some people don't watch their kids, I'm sure this happens at every pool. But there's no changing room it's all exposed to the outdoors, there's 2 showers in the women's restroom which has no AC because it's open roof, no privacy except in the bathroom stall itself so come with your suit on if you can. There are lawn chairs in the shade and tables to sit at. Durning summer months there is a little Italian ice place that has snacks and drinks, but you can bring in your...
Read moreSo let me start off by saying this pool is very nice, separate pools for kids, diving and deeper lap pool. MOST of the lifeguards are friendly. Recap story, watching my kids while in the kids pool and my mother walks over to ask this little lifeguard kid if my nephew can take off his life jacket since the water is only like a foot deep, he blatantly ignores her and walks away, she follows him just in case he wasn't aware and without any respect barely gives her any response not even looking at her. Now I know don't nobody like to have their mother disrespected or cause any scene but if I was the individual I was a year ago that kid would have needed stiches. DON'T FEEL ENTITLED AND DON'T HIRE JERKS AT A FAMILY ESTABLISHMENT!!! This made us feel as we was unwelcome and judged. From that day on I have not wanted to take my family or suggest this place to anyone. It's sad how someone who is representing an establishment can ruin it's reputation with a...
