St Thomas Cycleboats — Attraction in Charlotte Amalie West

There were six in our group in St. Thomas for the day as the first port of call off of our cruise ship. I had booked the St. Thomas Cycle Boats afternoon water island tour on Viator prior to our cruise. The marina where STCB leaves from is just a short 5-10 minute walk from the pier where the cruise ship docks. Besides the six of us aged 22-52 there were two other ladies that joined our group. We had a blast drinking delicious rum punch and listening to Caribbean tunes while taking in the spectacular views from the water and pedaling (well, sometimes) to the beach. Captain Ann Marie told us stories and local info and she and first mate Val made it such a great time! The beach was beautiful and we had it practically all to ourselves! There were food and drinks available at two different venues on the beach although we did not visit either one. After almost two hours relaxing on the free beach chairs and swimming in the crystal clear water it was time to head back to the marina. The trip back was just as great although we were sad that our time was almost over. There is a restaurant right at the dock where you disembark the cycle boat in case you want to grab a bite before or after your excursion and there is also an ice cream/coffee hut that also serves alcohol (mango smoothie with banana rum is delicious). St. Thomas Cycleboats is the best excursion we’ve been on! Tamara made this all happen for us! When our cruise port excursion was full, she got us on another one that was going out from another cruise port. Tamara kept in contact with me and kept me updated on time changes and thoroughly went over where we were supposed to pick up the Cycleboat. She called me to make sure we were on our way and when we got there made sure we were at the correct spot! She is the most caring, sweet and thorough person I ever dealt with! She cares so much you would think she owns the company. Once on the Cycleboat, Captain Dave & Josh were also great! We all had a great time with my husband DJ Chuck (lol) and the flowing of rum punch. They also took us to a gorgeous beach. All around a great experience and lots of fun!! Our extended family did this excursion in St Thomas and basically had the entire boat (8 out of 10 seats were us). Captain Dave and Andrew took amazing care of us, and even helped with my aging step father who uses a walker to get on and off the boat, and even helped him with the ladder to get off the boat and onto the island and beach. An added bonus was Andrew helping him into the water to go swimming as well.

The conversation was wonderful, Andrew knew tons about the local area, told us stories about Blackbeard, and the history of Water Island, as well as were to go to visit the old fort that's on the island. This was one of the best excursions we've ever taken.
