Broken Plate — Restaurant in Charlotte Amalie West

We came in and were 2 of 4 people in the restaurant. Our waitress didn't seem thrilled to see more customers come in. We ordered the Fritatta off of a picture on their Google ad and it came out about half as flat and missing ingredients that we were not told it was be missing. She was attentive until her friends she partied with the night before came in and all service was forgotten about. They say at the bar talking about how much they drank the night before and where they woke up. The waitress mentioned that anytime she smelt food she was going to throw up. My daughter and I stopped in for lunch at the Broken Plate. Thank goodness we did because this was one of my favorite meals on St. Thomas! We ordered the falafel and hummus appetizers. The hummus was the best hummus I’ve ever had, it was garlicky and I loved the addition of the chili oil. I got the chicken shawarma wrap, which was so tasty. The chicken was flavorful, I loved the hot peppers and pickled veggies and there was a perfect amount of sauce. I hate when places are stingy with their sauces. Stephon was super nice and had excellent customer service. He recommended the lamb burger when I asked which burger I should get and it was my first time trying it out. I loved it! Tastes very clean and the toppings are the best part! Never had a burger with such fresh unique toppings like these! The chicken for the Greek Cobb salad was very tasty and flavorful and I loved how they put it in a separate container so the hot chicken doesn’t wilt the lettuce.
