What an absolute treat this place is! I don't hold back when it comes to this particular restaurant. It's not your typical sit down and dine eatery... if you're from the mainland imagine going to something like Panda Express and getting to choose all of your items and they put it in a styrofoam container for you. Except, this is all Caribbean food with authentically delicious flavors. The plantains are to die for for not too sweet, but very nicely caramelized and perfect texture.
Honestly everything is there that you would want from a total comfort food stand point. They're going to have some chicken, today it was wings with two different flavors. A piece of salmon Sweet Chile Caribbean style. They will definitely have rice I had mashed potatoes and rice. Today featured meatloaf which I didn't try but I'm sure it's scrumptious I was just in the mood for salmon. Collared greens with kale & okra.
I've been there quite a few times and they always have the standard Staples of plantains, rice, potatoes, greens and some sort of chicken dish, a fish dish, and maybe a meat dish.
Portions are fantastic when you lift away your tray you can probably expect about a good solid pound of food in your hand. You can taste the love & flavor in all their meals. Don't hesitate to try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreExcellent food, clean and cool! Food served at the counter - you pick an entree and two sides. Very limited seating inside, but several outside tables looking over the water. If youāre driving here, thereās plenty of parking in the lot - it will look like a shopping mall from the lot. The restaurant is sort of in the middle facing the water.
I had Caribbean chicken wings, vegetables, and garlic mashed potatoes. The vegetables were just right (not mushy, slight crunch) and flavored with a butter sauce. The sauce from the meat mixed well with the vegetables.
The amount of food for the price was great! We paid $15 a plate and were stuffed full!! It was excellent!! Thereās an attached bar and casino with...

Today I had the rotisserie herbal chicken: just Ok, Ive tasted better; the rice and beans: I'll pass, it had a heavy taste of a spice...maybe capers/oregon; plantains: šš½, and the ribeye stir-fry: I'll pass, it was a little tough.
I also had a chance to taste their seafood a few Saturdays ago at the end of January. The fish had a weird powdery tatse with no seasoning. The fish sauce was bland. The fungie, dumplings and baked Johnny...
